Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

The Joyo Octave fuzz would be an octave up option on the cheap.

Had and sold one for what I paid for it. Might get another someday. It is "miswired" stock, their are two caps that need to be swapped t get a decent octave effect.

It was good on the bass vi, but not enough low end probably for most people's setups. It's only up when the fuzz is on. You'd need additional mods to solo that part. It's a miswired foxx octave fuzz... Dont quote me on the correct model name of the cloned pedal.

Good to note. Not particularly bothered investing energy into modding a cheap pedal.

Noticed there's an Earthquaker Devices Organizer in a local classifieds for sale. Thoughts on these on bass? At a glance they look like a POG clone or at the very least have similar features but in a more streamlined design.

I don't feel much difference, really. Maybe except that I earn more now.
I didn't really put much thought to passing time, only recently it turned out that 5 years have passed somehow. That was kind of a shock.

I think the difference is, now I know better, and still choose to do some things that leave others wondering about my sanity.

IMO skip it. Nothing like a POG, because it is analog and super glitchy. If you are going to spend that coin get a Foxrox Octron, analog but tracks great. I sold mine to get some other pedals but recently picked up a poor man's Octron, a Madbean Lowrider, doesn't track like the Octron but has octave down, two octaves down, and octave up. Also the ol' lady bought me an EHX Pith Fork for XMas. That thing is slick if you want to go digital. Does lots of different pitch shifting and tracks awesome. I usually keep it on B Standard so I can jump back and forth from E standard to B and keep the Lowrider set for octave up and down. Then I get the best of both worlds, analog and digital octaves/pitch shifting.

Argh, so the Jazzguarbird is making what I guess is a shielding sound. All my connections test perfect on the multimeter. I thought maybe that weird bridge wasn't grounding but it is. I didn't expect noise with humbuckers. I guess I need to shield all the cavities of the bass? Anyone here have to shield their instruments? Should I shield the pickup cavities or just the control cavity?
