I turned 39 last month. Two kids (3 and 6), wife, cubicle job, mortgage, Subaru outback, all that stuff.
My current band, started 10 months ago, is the heaviest, best, most ass-kicking thing I've ever done.
Makin' & raising babies was the best thing I ever did for my music. Watching new life grow and sprint so damn fast to strength and adulthood makes you suddenly realize your moving just as fast toward weakness and death. After having kids, I 100% stopped any and all hobbies / activities / time suckage unless it was what I really loved and wanted to do.. which is live-loud-ass-heavy-universe-destroying riffage. In my twenties I thought I had forever to get around to things I wanted to do. Quite frankly, everything I did musically between the ages of 24 and 34 was mostly a half-assed waste of time.
