Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part Ten - What is this thread about again?

Looks like I qualify; on the phone with the credit card people now.

Seems since Wade didn't offer any type of warranty in writing on the initial purchase I'm SOL.

I'm fuming right now....

Kuys, did you buy the magma direct or through Paypal? Paypal is pretty good w/ disputes.

it's a long shot, but Monolith makes cabinets for Verellen. You could contact them, explain what happened, and ask for alternative contact info for Wade. They also deal through Trade Up Music and Centaur Guitar- you could try the same with them. You'd be spreading the word about how they suck.

It might be worth it to get a lawyer and pay $50 for a letter. There might even be enough people who got screwed over to consider a class action suit.

Good luck, this sucks.

Looks like it's done!

If it is beyond the 60 day wait period with Paypal then nothing can be done through Paypal. I have talked to a Paypal associate and all they can do is tell you that if enough people complain about Wade and Monolith then they may investigate it and open a claim. They will then give you a website address to complain about him and his business regarding online theft.

So long as those tubes are warm it's doomy enough for me.50 watts makes a great practice level.I use my 50 watt laney A.O.R (laney equivalent to a modded JCM 800) at home, and it's gets a killer Kyuss/Scott Reeder kinda sound happening.
But gigging with it is recipie for smoke and flames...which would be a crazy light show,so do it

I really want to let you guys know that my heart goes out to each and every one of you who are having trouble finding a band. Asthma Castle had a great ****ing jam last night and there really is no better feeling in the world.

Thanks homeboy and congrats!! I know its a great feeling and the buzz can last for days until you need another fix. I am actually kinda giddy right now after I woke up and checked my email to find 2 responses to my CL ad, one from a very enthusiastic drummer who ranks Kyuss as one of his favorite bands of all time, and one from a guitarist/keyboarder who wants to get into a stoner rock gig. Reconfirmed commitment with my Danzig singer (and been listening to Misfits for the last 2 days to get a feel for how to mold her talent to my will... sorry just caught up on Game of Thrones and feelin hella devious) so hopefully Pittsburgh will have a sweet new stoner jam very shortly. I got Fruity Loops setup on my PC rig, gotta get the firewire straightened out to start recording ideas pronto.

I think office jobs are a good creative ooze pit for our type of music.... I was doing some clerical BS yesterday making up sludgy blues riffs in my head for probably 15 minutes before I realized what I was humming was original content.

Anybody making custom Emperor-style cabs that isn't Emperor? Maybe with a little more technical know-how and less douche-baggery?

My 6x10 isn't doing it for me at the moment. There is an 8x10 at the studio but its one of the OSB ones that sound like it has a blanket on it.

Pittsburgh has a surprisingly awesome music scene, especially for our genre. The support for local bands, both opening and deadlining, kicks Baltimore's ass.

Thats cuz Pburghers have rust powder and steel mill residue in their bloodstream. You can't take a sip of water or a breath of air without absorbing it. It weighs down your circulation and heavy sludgy riffs are the only thing that gets the blood pumping again.

And from what I have seen, people around here really like their herb. Can't believe its not medi-legal yet.

I think a road trip to Oregon to pay Wade a little visit would help. I traded mine, if the cat has problems, which I hope not, I'll make it right with him, unlike Wade. Then I will be knocking on his door. Anyone have full contact info for him? I never got his last name and lost the address.

Any reason why you want to go custom? What speaker size are you looking for? How much are you looking to spend? Details, man ;) Do you just want something with cool looking tolex? Dan is your man at LDS. Low Down Sound - Custom Speaker Cabinets for Bass Guitar

I'm looking for something sexy. I like wood finishes but I guess they are a little trendy. Maybe a nice 2x15 with lacquered tolex. I'm not sure what I want. I'll end up with a Ampeg Fridge eventually but a boy can dream!

The 6x10 sounded great but it seems to be a little bass shy all of a sudden. I just picked up a 4x12 that was really bass shy. I may be on my way back to 15's.
