Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread Part Ten - What is this thread about again?

So tried the Roadstar out at practice again tonight and getting some crazy microphonic feedback still even after having the pickups potted. Guess it will be retired to practice/clean playing only. It's a shame cause it sounds and plays awesome but I'm out of options. Maybe I'll try a different tech.

Sold the Artist. Picking up the Guild tomorrow :)

Ok quick list

-Megalith
-Magnatar
-Bassweet
-Oxfuzz Bass (I should really stop telling people about this)
- Devi Ever Bass Fuzz/ SMBH
- Bluebeard
-Wooly Mammoth
- Huge Box

Look for them used and most of them should be around or under your price point. Some work better with tube amps.

Sweet, I'm solid state. Found mammoth clone before for $90. Worth it?

I had the Iron Ether Oxide for awhile and I personally didn't like it... It was supposed to range pretty much from Brassmaster to gated Mammoth.... The Mammoth-y sounds sounded too "synthy" (I guess that's the point?) and the Brassmaster side sounded very NIN-ish, copped the tone real well but that's not what I was looking for. Grey Stache is a sweet Fuzzrocious muff clone, they trade in the classifieds alot as people like to rotate their muffs... Alot of options, a mid knob, and the 3 diode settings are nice different tones. Rat Tails are hard to find in classifieds lately, seem to be highly sought after but I'm guessing it's for a reason.

I think everyone that reads this thread uses passive basses lol! I could be wrong though
Definitely wrong. Currently I only own active basses.

I always assume that but you never know. My thing is passive basses work better with effects. Just my thing. People's opinion my vary on that.
In my experience it's been the complete opposite. Weird.

In non stoner/doom news, I'm going to see Arch/Matheos tonight. I was never a big Fates Warning fan but my girlfriend played this new "duet" album and it's absolutely fantastic. Very excited. And then tomorrow my band is playing with Brand New Sin up in New Hampshire. That should be pretty fun.
