I was in the army, we all got drunk and fought like crazy! Fighting wasn't a big deal there but I wouldn't want to still be doing it. I'm starting to get a little older and I'm not very fit lol!
I'm the same way but that night he started in on my GF at the time not knowing I was in the room. It takes a lot to push me over the edge.
Well on a different topic I've been thinking about putting flats on my 4003. I had flats on a thunderbird moons ago and didn't like the sound, it was all dark and boomy. I hear now they have flats with nice midrange and good clarity. 4003 with flats into Bluebeard and tube amp? Sound good or should I just keep my trusted Dunlops on and call it a day
I fought my drummer while we were both drunk(this was years ago tho). We had gone out drinking and throughout the night he slowly progressed into a sad "woe is me" negative Ned. I tried to cheer him up by wrestling around with him. But I was getting fed up and aggravated with him and our "fake" fighting turned into me "bashing" his head into the outside wall of the bar,which then turned into rolling around a gravel parking lot,punching one another,getting my mouth "fish hooked",full nelsoning each other,throwing gravel into each others faces and some mild hair pulling
. Finally I got up,said sorry and told him I was walking home before this escalated and got serious.
The next day we both said sorry about being drunk d-bags and stayed being friends.

D'Addario Chromes are really great, not boomy, not (too) dark. IME / IMO TBrids are already dark and boomy, and really sound better with rounds. Rics on the other hand sound great with the tinnyness of rounds taken away for smoother sounding flats.
I have Chromes on ALL of my basses.
As far as getting drunk and fighting, I've never been in a fight while drunk. I HAVE, however, been in a fight with people who were drunk. Probably about 100 of em. Oh State College...

Now do these chromes come in a heavy set 50-110 or are they high enough tension I could use a reg for C# standard?
I have 3 chromes on my fretless P...broke the E string a couple weeks ago, so I had to put the original Rondomusic.com stock string back on in the mean time. You can really tell how bad those strings are compared to the chromes, no sustain or tone, man, I need to fix that, STAT!

I think standard chromes are 105. I find them a touch sloppy in c#, but it's not unplayable.

I was looking on bass strings online and see La Bella has a set of flats that are 49-109. Doesn't Sam use La bella flats on his Ric?? I might be tempted in those if they aren't super dark and have some sustain
I use Regular Lights (.045 .065 .080 .100) and my basses are tuned to Drop C. I don't have any issues, even with the .100 tuned down to C. If you like higher tension you may way to go with a bigger gauge.

They are notas dark as everyone claims, just heavy on the low mids. They still have lots of highs and good sustain. I had a bad set where the E and A went dead in a few weeks but this set has been fine for 6 months now.
So I just ordered a P bass pup ashtray, but its not for the P bass.
That's right it's for the Warwick.
Thinking about giving the Warwick a retro make over, I've always loved those Warwick Fortress Flashbacks. Almost like a Warwick rendition of a Rickenbacker. Ricks look so cool, Warwicks sound so cool...Winning combination? And I love it when Jazz basses have the cover over the neck pup, makes slapping, thumping, tapping a lot easier. And I either pluck in front of the neck pup or over the back pup, so I wont get in the way of my playing. The extra chrome wont hurt either, BLING BLING. I'll have to have a custom pickguard made. In the end, I'll have a WaRickenbacker.
Here's a quick test pic of the pup ashtray. It was a split between "like it" or "it looks hideous" over at the Warwick Club, what do you guys think?

Just lost what i typed. Short version, try rotos, chromes ok, labella's might be too dark, and not bigger then .105.
