Yea I read those threads and people get crazy with the science stuff. I have some knowledge of it and have a book all about speakers and sound but am no pro lol. I'd go with the 3015's too. The Faitails sound too hi fi to me. That's the main reason I was never interested in a fearful or new light weight cab cause every clip I've heard they sound too modern. I love me that sound of an old cab before they had computers to tell us how they should sound

They knew how they would sound back then as well. Computers are just replacing what smart folks did with a pen and paper. They could draw the same fancy charts and do the same fancy math.

Well I just ordered a set of 40-100 chromes for my jazz bass in E and a set of 50-105 chromes for my Ric in C#. I think Laz's last clips really sold me on the chromes to check them out

My Ibby on the left with the PJ pickups kicks ass but It doesn't have the stock PUP's and I don't like the ones on it. They are active semour ducans with switches on the pickups. Any one have some good suggestions for a good passive replacement? I was thinking of maybe those emg's passives but I don't know much about PUP's. I want a good old school sound that isn't all boosted or muddy

All the 70s and 80s ibanez pickups were modeled after dimarzio so you could go that route. Could always do Seymour Duncans. Or if you're feeling frisky, G&L MFDs

It's actually a 1x18. I used to have a 4x12 too but sold it. I use the 18 quite a bit actually and it has it's own cool sound. All my soundcloud recording are with the 18

not sure how recent this was, but i was looking at some live photos of Baroness on the facespace, and noticed that Summer Welch wasn't playing bass. it turns out he left the band, though i'm not sure why. he was good, though i the are way more of a guitar band. i'm curious about the new guy.
