Supporting Membership Rate Increase: Aug 1 2014

On a quick calculation using my local (Ireland) inflation rates since 2000, it should be 27.91 - not a problem that it goes to 30 for SM, basically in line with inflation and absolutely fine by me -cheap at the price for the enjoyment and time I spend here.
Any business or service needs to pay the rent.
Thanks Paul.

Ok, really dumb question but I'm unable to find the answer. I purchased supporting member in November 2013. I just went to account upgrade and picked gold for $40/yr. It now says I'm gold supporting. Am I only gold through Jul 23 15? What happened to the 4.5 months of supporting member?

Gold was never $40, it's been $60 since the beginning. You see $40 because I'm testing out a system that discounts your already-paid $20 from the price. A Gold Supporting Membership though has been $60 for over a decade. $60 in 2000 had the buying power of $83 today.

Renewing now for a year ($20) would be your best bargain.

Perfectly clear, and still a great bargain - thank you sir!

I think Gold Membership should have extra perks besides no ads, like our for sale items should always be at the top of the classified threads, have a GM only forum, a quarterly get out of "Banned" free card and any other cools stuff. Just sayin...

I am not happy with the increase but as a business owner I understand that it has to be done for TB to remain a top notch forum. If last year was any indication of how this next year will be, I saved and made a considerable amount more than the $80 GM fee on the classifieds.
