You can think that you rebutted, Your Smungess, but actually, respecting someone's work and talent and respecting them personally are two different things.
There's an evidence line a mile long pointing to Lohan's partying/using/etc. There's none of that with Tyler. I'm not defending him, as I'm not an big Aerosmith fan.

well, he was one half of the toxic twins and you're sort of making my original point, in that, we forgive Tyler and co. for their heroin and coke stupidity, where they threw literally millions of dollars away, and then gave us "Dude Looks Like A Lady" & "Crazy" to get it back, while going thru multiple stints at rehab to keep them straight... well, the Cobain estate gives us signature shoes... what's worse?
It seems we have more ill feeling for Courtney, or we feel our ill feeling is justified (and again, I'm no fan), and I just feel it's a bit of a double standard. Yeah she's a mess, she has her problems, but no one has a right to say she's exploiting her dead husband to fuel her drug habits... that's wrong too.

The part that strikes me as tastless has nothing to do with how dead he is or the circumstances of his death, but the fact that ITS SHOES!!! I can understand a guitar, or a shirt or poster with a picture of him or any sort of paraphanalia that is exclusive to him. But no, its shoes... something that the majority of people in the world wear. Its just a pathetic grasp for attention and money.
I don't think I'm even capable of scrounging up enough ambition to force my brain to contemplate something so insignificant as the precise level of taste of Kurt Cobain signature shoes.
However, I am curious about one thing. Is anyone here planning on buying a pair of these shoes? If fans of Nirvana are offended by the idea and non fans of the band have no reason to buy them, who does that leave as a market? Does anyone think that some collectors are going to snap these babies up by the caseload as some sort of investment?

As much as I dislike Cobaine and Nirvana, I'm pretty sure he was anti-establishment enough that he never would have done such a thing.
