TC Electronic RH450, RS210, RS212 Review Thread

I run my Pod live xt into my RH450 into the 210 stack and kill a room if I go to 4 on the volume knob. This amp is very powerful at its rating. And yes, the proper EQ has a huge amount to do with it sounding loud enough and cutting through.

Yes, and it is indeed a killer rig. Very SVT-like tones, and VERY loud. I don't know where all these comments about the RH450 being underpowered are coming from; the thing is way louder than any head its size.

What wattage does the amp produce at 8 ohms? When you run it with one 8 ohm cab is it enough? I know in some of the newer car audio Class D amplifiers, they put out full power at various ohm loads. Is that the same for the RH450?

I love to watch some bands setting up where all they do is turn volumes up. 3 guys will turn up to match the loud guy when all they have to do is turn him down. Kids these days.....and the obnoxious adult.

From what I can tell from using it in real world applications, if someone says it's underpowered it's because they are evaluating with their eyes and not with their ears. This thing puts out TONS of volume. WAY more than my Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 running 2 2x10 cabs...

Im considering getting the cabs, RS212 and an RS210. Im using a gallien Krueger 700rb II with sansamp bddi, ebs multicomp through a hartke 4.5xl at the moment. Im looking for a warm full sound. HArtkes bit to punchy for me. Anyone try the gallien through the tc cabs yet?

I'm sold on the amp. The speakers on the other hand? No matter how they sound, in order to get the full 450 watt headroom you have to purchase two of their 8 ohm cabs. Even the 410 is only available in an 8 ohms version. Also, the 410 does not come with wheels! I'm going with a Bergantino 410 with wheels to complement my new RH450.

I understand what you are saying, but IME there is usually zero volume difference between an 8 ohm cab and a 4ohm cab of the same kind when connected to any given head. Depending on the amp design, some heads might not feel quite as dynamic at one resistance versus another, but it's never a volume issue.

If you are sure that you will only ever need a single 410 for anything you play, then a 4 ohm 410 makes sense. Personally, I'd rather have two of the 8 ohm rs210's. You could then add a 3rd one as well and really get some beef.

I already had a Gig Skinz small mixer bag. The rh450 fits perfectly in there on all sides as if it were made for it. It has a large pocket on the outside that I put two 3' speakon cables and power cord. Works like a champ, but if you have the footswitch, the TC bag seems to be the way to go.

I believe our buddy Donavan at fretspot.com stocks the bags. I just got mine from Bass Northwest last month. I have a thing for well-made containers (I use Tom Bihn computer bags) . .. But anyway, I'm a big fan of the TC bag -super well designed, big shoulder strap etc.

He's out also. I have one on order from him. My RH450 arrives tomorrow though. I believe Donovan said he expects the bags to start shipping again in the second half of October.
