ha - not even close. I got through the first 30+ years of my life with just three: a Hagstrom; then a franken-Fender fretless; then a Fender Jazz. All gone.

Then when I resumed playing after a layoff to raise kids, I had more disposable income, and currently own:

count me in...i've owned 15 basses. still own 9 if you count the upright, 10 if you count the 1960 eb-0 that patiently sits broken in my garage waiting for me to fix it.

edit: hmmm...it says 50 basses? holy crap do i need glasses! nobody except john entwistle and justin meldal-johnsen owns 50 basses! sheesh!

I am about to have my 98th Rickenbacker. I have had about 45-50 Fenders, 20 Stingrays, 5 Gibsons and 5 Wals. There you have it.
