I gave the thing a few days to break in before turning it past 9 o clock, and today I put it on 12 volume, 1 o clock gain,with a heavy distortion (very low and high end eq'd also, not a lot of mid and boy was it LOUD. But it sounded so good even at that volume! Now, I live in a dorm so I turned it down after a minute or two but boy am I impressed!

Thanks for the response, Mike. The problem is the cab, specifically the plate on the back. It's a mechanical problem, and I think it simply has to do with the construction and design of the cabinet. Others have fixed the problem by cutting a port hole in the amp to allow air to escape. The dudes at GC tried to be helpful but couldn't really answer clearly whether this setup would work. I kinda got frustrated when the dude bailed on me for a smoke...[/QUOTE


I noticed a strange whistling from my 115 cab especially at higher volumes. I found that it was coming from air escaping around the switch that turns the horn on or off. I stuck a piece of duct tape over the switch and problem solved. I'm not happy about it, obviously a design defect, but hey, it's fixed and the rig sounds great. By the way, the switch is still operable with the tape and no need to drill holes in a brand new cab.

There is a three year warrantee on the stuff. If it is not right - take it back. They should not hassle you about it. In fact – if people don’t take the stuff back then GC will not know or be motivated to fix the problems. After all – the import stuff is anything but top shelf and returns is how to improve it – it effects their “Bottom Line”.

Thanks for the reply Ziggy. I bought mine through MF and it would be too much hassle to return so I'll just live with it. It's not really that big a deal. I do agree with you about returns being the way to get things right for future equipment. You got to hit 'em where it hurts, right? They probablly all count on people not returning stuff most of the time. It sucks I fall into that category this time around, but oh well.

and its a little dusty.... MOJO dust....it sound good...still have to play around with it more....but it does sound full and clear.

sweet that looks close to my b200h, but yours is vintage! idk where you can get a knob it looks like your just missing the silver cap , new acoustics have the same knobs so maybe you can order a part and roll it in some dust to have it match the others



edit: if your in portland oregon are 2x15 working acoustic bass cab 25$ yes 25$ i want it so bad no car to get it tho

but really, who is that? and, I spent all day cleaning the 150 up, making it like new! you know, didnt get any work done at all

and, it really sounds good around 11 oclock, and a little bass dailed in, about 2 oclock

it starts to have a natural growl and distortion, yeah!

oh, one last thing.

it is LOUD! and that is just thru a 112 genz benz.....going to take it to practice tonite, and pump it thru the 6x10 ----shhhh--ampeg---shhhh
