I went down to a music store today and finally got to try my 140 out with a bunch of cabs, I was there for a long time and had a ton of fun trying everything out. The amp's tone was awesome, exactly how I like my bass to sound, thick middy tone with just enough bass and gentle highs (even with the brightness on). Some cabs just didn't mix well with my amp or something since they sounded really odd and were farting out. The store I went to was a smaller one because the main store was closed, so there weren't as many cabs to try, but it was still awesome. My three fave cabs were a Traynor 8x10", an Ampeg 8x10" and an Ampeg 1x15", all of which sounded great. I also tried two Mesa Powerhouse cabs (2x12" and a 4x10") which sounded good but were farting out for some reason. Then I also tried a GK 1x15" which was really iffy and was also farting out for some reason. The worst cab was a GK 8x10" which hummed and was really gritty sounding, but I later saw that it looked like one of the speaker cones was damaged.
The coolest part was that I also tried out an Ampeg SVT-3 Pro and my 140 was just as loud as the SVT-3 Pro through the same cab even though it's power rating is much lower (125W vs 450W). I've read that the old Acoustics were underrated for power, but this was a really cool surprise!
