The All New Julie Slick thread

I see that another copy of the Pigtronix video that I linked above has been posted on youtube by Guitar World. It's the same video, but this page includes a detailed comment from Julie explaining some details about how she's using her various pedals. In case you're curious about such things:

Here's hoping there's another solo album coming soon!

New interview with Adrian Belew, in advance of the forthcoming Crimson ProjeKCt European tour, here:

A good chunk of it is him talking about his five colleagues in the Crimson ProjeKCt. Love his comments about Julie.

Just stumbled across this "vintage" Power Trio video on Youtube. I believe this is from 2008, but for some reason it was just posted a few days ago. I've seen photos from this show, but never a video or audio recording. It's clearly a professional production, and the audio sounds like it is direct from the sound board -- making it all the more puzzling why it hasn't shown up previously and suddenly appeared this week. Anyway, it's 18+ minutes of classic ABPT, with Eric on drums and Julie totally killin' it:

For those of you in the U.K.: Steve Lawson has just announced a show with Julie (and drummer Andy Edwards) in Birmingham on April 6th (shortly after the end of the current Crimson ProjeKCt tour). Here's the info:

Unlike the Lawson/Slick show that was announced but postponed last year, this one doesn't look to be available as a live stream over the interwebs: good news for those of your around Birmingham, but bad news for the rest of us!

Just stumbled across this column, which reminds us that this month is the fifth anniversary of the release of "e" -- the ABPT's only studio album:

This album went directly to my personal top-5-all-time-albums list on first listen, and has remained there unwaveringly there ever since. The composition of the entire album is nothing short of brilliant, as is the execution by all three players. I remember posting the story of listening the album for the first time, fresh out of the mailbox, on a long freeway drive to a party at a friend's house: When the last note of the album sounded, I realized that I had zoomed past my exit several miles earlier, completely oblivious to my surroundings.
