At this time of year, trust me, it's Tired Leader. Fearless...always, tired...oh yeah!
In that case, I would like to request a number.
Oops, my fault. With all the combos on the board today I mistakenly thought you had posted one. Now I understand why you said it'd have to wait until after the holidays. So let's put you on hold until you can submit a pic of your combo and then, like a flash (or at least like a flicker), I'll get you your number. Sorry about hte confusion, but no one who reads these pages on a regular basis is surprised.
My first post is back on pg 364 so don't need a number.
Just bought a new GK 800 S Fusion 210 combo to replace my GK 1001/210 combo.
Mostly a weight issue thing with the 1001 weighing in at 80 lbs. New Fusion weighs in in at a mere 35 lbs.
Having a tubey overdrive channel is an absolute gas! = TONE MONSTER!!!
Still going to run the ext thru the old featherweight 8Ω GK 410 MBE cab.
Will keep the 1001 combo too which I love and cherish. Needs some shop time. Still think that combo would be better for large clubs where FOH/soundguys have the "room say". But at my advanced age and locale how many of those gigs will I have?
Anyway Merry Christmas to me and to you and let's hope for MORE LIVE MUSIC in 2022!!!
ps > that is an old Crate BX-40 back on the dresser top someone gave me back around 2000. Not a bad little practice amp at 40w w/ 112. Front control panel nicely laid out w/ pre shape and treble and bass boost buttons at either end of rotatry 4 band EQ. Works pretty well, can't quite dial in a premium tone, but good enuff.
The things on the floor and shelves on the right are called vinyl LP records. Back in the day was a mechanical thingee with a stick that drug a really sharp hard little thingee over the plastic and it made sound/musiks. You could even stack five or six plastic disks on top of each other so ya didn't have to get up outta yer chair thus not spilling the bong so often!! g00d times!!
And YES!! John Entwistle was a big influence and hero!! Met him twice!!! More g00d times!

Though it’s a shame with your tenure in this club, the posted pic, and the interesting story you told (meeting Ox twice) you don’t want a number, but I respect your wishes. Thanks for posting!

The G.A.S. bug is biting hard. I've just got myself a Darkglass Alpha Omega (that I can't wait to play with as soon as I get a bloody power supply), and now I want to get a flanger (the TC Electronic Thunderstorm is cool). And a Warwick BC80. One day. After I've had my gearbox rebuilt on my car. And after I've learned to play well enough to cart my gear to church to actually play with other people.

iriegnome, if thats' your example of a baby I'd hate to see one of your fully-grown combos. I must admit though, that combo looks to be in terrific shape for being almost a half-century old! Pure bonus if everything's working on it too. Hope ya like it.

Well a decision has been made after reading others personal experiences, my visit to GC to tryout the Ampeg RB112, Rumble 100. Also my very brief encounter with the CL Stack purchase and quickest return to seller ever. Drum roll please . The Rumble 100 is due to arrive by this Sunday. Sweetwater is the best!I don’t know much about the new Rocket Bass amps, but l've loved my Rumble 500 (210) for over 7 years with nary a discouraging word.
Basically, the R100 and RB112 seem fairly well matched. Both 100 watts into an Eminence 12" speaker, with FX Loop, XLR Line Out, footswitchable dual-controlled Overdrive and special voicings*. Both XLR Outs are affected by the Volume control. Neither can increase power by driving an external cab.
The Rocket costs about 14% more, weighs about 18% more and takes up about 29% more space. The Rumble comes with no internal acoustic lining that some users install to make it sound less "boxy". The Rocket has padded and unpadded inputs, while the Rumble has a Gain control for that and for adjusting drive and Overdrive. The Rocket has Ultra-Hi and Ultra-Lo *voicings, while the Rumble has Vintage, Contour & Bright *voicings. The Rocket has a 3-band B,M,T EQ, while the Rumble has a 4-band B,HM,LM,T EQ.
So, it would appear that, as most people say, it does just come down to whether prefer the Ampeg sound or the Fender sound. And, if you don't know that, ... well, ... that's for you to find out.
