My wife and I have just heard a most incredible voice from Iowa. I hope that all of you will have the opportunity to hear it.

Oh, stop, SR, I thought I sounded a bit nasally. Oh wait, you're not talking about me, are you? Probably because I didn't sing on the last recording. The one before I did, though a backing vocal only. I'll fire up the last two tunes though no one is under any duress to listen. In other words, enter at your own risk. SR thinks I should post in the Recordings thread and I might take a look at it, though all my friends whose ears I respect are here!

I hear ya, RR. We tried turning north to Wisconsin and letting loose, but she ran out of gas before the end of the first verse. We'll try harder next time!

'Rambler, how are ya? It's #2 tearing up the 60+ easy listening charts in Eastern Iowa for the week before spring is official. Yeah, it's a narrow field but we feel quite confident we'll remain #1 for a good long time.

So here's a song we did earlier this week, Monday I believe. It's in Jackie's wheelhouse as far as I'm concerned as I always felt she could channel Karen Carpenter's tone as long as I've known her. She does a mean Chewbacca too, but I digress. She sang lead, we did backing vocals together, and I played the Cajon. I wasn't gonna improve Joe Osborn on bass and left his in out of respect. I'm still working on mixing volumes so they work together so any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks for listening!

Tone, very close-a little wider vibrato than K.C., but that's not a bad thing.
IIRC, this is the song that Karen and Richard recorded 32 parts on the "Ah-h-h-s".

Thanks, GP! Jackie says her vibrato increases as she goes higher up in her range. Yeah, I like it too. That 32-part work by Karen and Richard did not happen in the Iago household, but I love what they did nonetheless.

The Carpenters and ABBA were sometimes looked at as "cheesy", but their harmonies and song crafting was spot on.

As I said when I first heard it...WOW!!!

SR, we just remastered yesterday's Annies' Song. I brought down the bass and Cajon (very sad), but we agreed it was a tad too heavy. We also, after careful re-listening, bumped her backing vocals up and the lead slightly, so if these guys scream, "There's too much voice!" I'm blaming you for it! Also, toned down the instrumentation but Jackie would not allow me to put a limiter on the instrumental part. She loves her violins.

Honestly, I do think it's a better rendering compared to yesterday's version. Thanks for your input, as always.

Ahhhh, much better and I agree with Jackie, the violins also make the tune. The bass was certainly there and your percussion was much better. Congrats to both of you.

Other than as my "practice" amp, it's not being used. Might hafta wind up in a landfill if I move. Nobody wants heavy [stuff] unless it's a 'brand' name. Same for my passive P____ PA gear. GC won't even take it.

Apparently there is still a market for vintage Kasino combos and yours appears in great shape. Your PA gear could go to an up and coming garage rock band if the price was right.

Only b/c of my crappy pics. There are a coupla scratches and dings that don't show up. Still, for a 52 y/o amp, it does pretty well. If I had a place to play-and leave-it(like a steady gig), I might consider replacing the equally old original 15s with lighter ones, but they sound pretty dang good as is. As evidenced by the videos posted b4.

I'm not planning to list the Kasino any time soon, esp. on CL. I'm not about to deal with scammers(again). Once was more than enuff.
Or young'ns who blow it up at which point it would go to the curb.
The JC would do. I've never seriously looked at one for 2 reasons: 1) It's a larger body than my Ibanez AGB200, and, B) in all the demos I've seen/heard, I didn't like its tone(s).
