No issues really. Just wanted to change things up. Got 2 full sets of replacement valves. 12 x 6L6s and 6 preamp valves. Svetlana, Tung Sol, Mullard, Groove tube. Matched pairs where appropriate..

Not sure exactly. I'll weigh it n let you know. It's not just the sheer weight of it. The amp is very top-heavy. When you lift it by the handles the amp rolls and wants to "capsize". A real wrist-breaker.
It's weighs about 50 kg/ 110 lbs/ 7 stone 12 lb.. Maybe a little less. Hard to get an accurate reading on it.
Here's my combo. Mesa Boogie Buster Bass 200. This thing ain't portable despite its appearance. It's easier shifting an Ampeg Fridge.. But it has valves so it sounds great. Got some nice replacement valves for it. Just a sweet sounding amp..

I'd have to use at least 2, maybe 3, of my roadies (18, 19 & 20 year old grandsons) to move that thing! Why, just being in the same room with it would pro'lly give me another herniated disc!

I love this. In my opinion all combos should have this sort of retro futuristic look. What year is this absolute beauty?
Yup. 6 Svetlana Winged C 6L6s paired with either theTung Sol or Mullard 12AX7s would be a favourite combo. The all Groove Tube setup is pretty great too. I've a few nice valves now, some variations on preamp tubes, 12AU7s etc. A tiny collection really but all-quality..
That is absolutely the right tool for the job..
So what was everyone's first bass combo and first (if you have one) gigging bass combo?
My first bass combo (or amp) was a Kalamazoo Model 30. The sealed 2x10 cab is OK. It's marginal on a low E and fairly useless below that. It was my practice amp for maybe a month before I bought a Rumble.
I needed something for both practice and gigging (or so I thought), so I went straight to the R100V3. I got a used one in like new condition for between $50 and $100 off the price of the new ones at the time. Then I found out our church's main sound guy and stage manager wanted a "clean stage", so I just went into a DI for several years. At our new church, that's not an issue, and the Rumble does a great job there (as well as at home, of course).

Spent close to, and maybe above, my budget to buy my StingRay in 1979. What was left went to a combo — make and specs unknown beyond it was what I could buy with my remaining coin. I didn't much mind when it went away.
First real combo, and first gigging combo, was the venerable Peavey TNT 100. Pushed that amp hard, and it never failed. Coupled with a home built 15 inch cab, it got loud enough. Perhaps.

My first bass combo was my first bass amp and my first gigging bass combo in 1971. I've never seen or heard of another EMC amp since I sold that one, but it was reliable and sounded pretty good. I've previously chronicled my combo journey here in the CC in this illustrated post, for those who are interested.
