With 200 watts packed into a tiny amp, I would expect there to be some cooling involved. It's nowhere near as loud as the fan on the Hartke KB15. Overall I am very impressed with the ELF combo. It looks and sounds great! Oh and the cover is a huge plus!

Congratulations! I just have the book sized elf head, and until trying it with a full range speaker had given up on the tone, seems like they did a great job on the combo. You may want to look up the Mesa Subway D350 since it has no fan, and a little more power, tho not in a combo that I am aware of.

Yeah those D350s are nice, but I plan on sticking with the ELF. It sounds great and is perfect for my needs.

I went to an open mic Friday afternoon. A friend from out of town was going to play. I considered taking a bass and amp to sit in if the really good bassist wasn’t there. Couldn’t decide between Rumble 200 or Joyo 10 mini combo as the organizer curtly said ‘we are unplugged, bassists bring an amp or upright’. So, I decided to just go watch and learn and meet folks. Got there 30 minutes early and the place was so packed we could hardly get in. Ordered a beer from a back side room and tried to listen. Finally gave up and left. Next time we get there 2 hours early!

Well now that the honeymoon is over, I ended up sending the ELF combo back to SW. The speaker developed a fuzzy rattling sound when playing the E string. I cannot really explain why this happened. I've had this happen on every neodymium magnet speaker cab/combo that I've owned. Not sure why I'm having such bad luck with neo speakers, but SW was awesome and I decided to exchange it for another EV ZLX PA speaker. The sad thing is I loved the form factor and sound (besides the rattle) of the ELF. The ELF amp was very powerful.

Are you sure it was the speaker and not the walls rattling? 8^)

Or at least stuff in the room. I thought my speakers had developed a buzz; it was an acoustic guitar string rattling against the guitar!

No I checked all of that. I put my ear up to the speaker and could hear it. I moved it around my house and the same thing happened.

I asked a question in another forum and was then directed here. Do any of you have an opinion re the Fender Rumble 100 vs the Orange Glenn Hughes 50 watt combo. My needs are basically wanting a little more oomph for rooms where I am playing without a subwoofer and competing with a live acoustic drummer. It is a church setup. not a rock/metal bar gig. Still, I need a little more than the Rumble 40 can provide.

The Rumble 100 or 200 will serve you well, IMHO.
