I'm #80 with a GK 200MB from the late 70's or 80's. Very cool thread.
No one made to the clubhouse today? Is it a Bassman's holiday and no one told me? G-dog, it's your job to keep me abreast of such important calendar dates such as a day celebrating the famous combo amp made by Fender back in the 50s.
Ah, it's not your fault, you've been spending way too much time lately in our recently-updated two-story theater where live music lives. Last night alone we had enjoyed the soothing bass tones of Wilber Finch and his Plastic Bass Orchestra. Great bottom end but I was confused by the singing cat. I believe this weekend will be once again, "British Invasion from Poughkeepsie" with Paul Revereware and the Raiderettes (cheerleading squad), Hermit's Hermanns, and the Dave Clark 4 1/2 all performing. Plus, they'll be donating some of their instruments to our leasing program. So buy a ticket and then redeem it for an almost 2nd hand Vox Volkwagon Super Beatle! There's no amount of money we won't spend on our Combo Club members!

Apologies, Fearless Leader!! But since last year my wounds have not yet fully healed from our little, tiny misunderstanding over National Woodshedding Day. I shall never disagree with you, as you know Sir, but is just I do not think it means what you think it means. Sir! Respectfully, Sir!!

The Rockits ride again tonight for the very senior Rock ‘n Rollers Club of Laguna Woods in celebration of Elvis’ birthday. I’ll try to remember to get pics to post, but the Stage 800 gets the call along with my faded sonic blue AVRI ‘63 P-bass currently strung with Fender flats.
Past gigs in this location I have used the Acoustic combo in my avatar as this is a good sized room and it’s not so loud in appearance from farther away, lol, but the Rumble is 39lbs and 400 watts vs the Acoustic at 70lbs and 125 watts (the difference in output is less than you’d think)!
My sore foot made the decision for me. Looks like I’m going to survive my foot injury, as it’s been a lot less troublesome lately. I go back for a (hopefully) clearing X-ray next week.

This is the exact amp that anchored my bass, stressing "anchor" and all connotations thereof. Tone is unmistakable. Until someone tries to A - B sound sample me.
Nice response, Will. I loved my Peavey Combo 300 with a Peavey Cab, both with 15" Black Widows. That was until I reached 70 and couldn't move them across the floor, let alone, out the door! I sold them last year to help fund a Fender Rumble 200 Combo along with a Rumble 1-15 Cab. Almost half the weight of the Peavey set up and vintage tone to boot

That's why my 'big stuff' stays at home. I used to grunt this into the van by myselfNice response, Will. I loved my Peavey Combo 300 with a Peavey Cab, both with 15" Black Widows. That was until I reached 70 and couldn't move them across the floor, let alone, out the door! I sold them last year to help fund a Fender Rumble 200 Combo along with a Rumble 1-15 Cab. Almost half the weight of the Peavey set up and vintage tone to boot
and I had(note past tense) a 70s SVT/ 810.

Up really late tonight, but just finished putting some in with the Stage 800. Did a little playing this weekend as well (between the assessments), but need more time to put the personal touches on that I'd like to do. Believe it or not, I haven't even taken the pedal out of its bag yet. They recently added a MicroVR patch and it's one of the best Ampeg models out there. I owned a Micro and 210 cab and it's not a bad rendition. Ghostie, or any other of our owners, what are you digging right now? I'd like to venture into new territory.
I'm still loving the TV 15, Dual Showman, and the two preamps are really nice to build from. It's like a Walmart-sized candy store, but I'm only given a short time to play before I have to go back out in the cold, cruel world! What I continue to find with this combo is out incredibly quiet it is and how great the tone is through the speakers or phones. I've got this wild hair to dump extra amps and make this the go-to for everything. Then maybe buy the Studio 40 for the practice room and grab-n-go jams. Is that crazy?
Picked up the Fender cover to keep it dust-free and a USB for recording. It's a son-of-a-gun to insert in the port though. Anyone else having difficulty with that plug-in? Haven't tried recording as of yet, but intend to at some point.
I'll try and get back throughout the week! Foks, we're up to 115 fantastic combo crazies. Let's shoot for 10,000 new members by Easter.

Having sold my 800w rig because I'd "given up gigging", I saw an ad on Joinmyband looking for a bass player to join some other "mature" guys in a band.
Turned up with my GK MB112 (and Jazz Bass) and got the gig!
"Nothing complicated" seems to be the order of the day, bit of CCR, Bob Seger, Stones, Eagles, Clapton, Steve Earl etc.
As I'm away 2 nights a week on business I've bought another Combo so I can practice in my hotel room instead of sitting in the bar! Sounds surprisingly good, especially with the extension speaker and it fits in my suitcase!
If the band takes off I'll probably buy another MB112 and run them both from the two outputs on my Zoom B3. Over here the 112MBP is no cheaper than the MB112!
I was very interested in the Blackstar bass setup you have but never found any locally until after I got my little Vox. Which I am going to use at rehearsal today with my Tadpole ukulele bass, I just have to rig up something to protect it from the rain...

By some chance one of the local brick and mortars sells both Blackstar and Vox. Likely one of them Vox deals waiting for my go-ahead. That's not a today thing today but there is likely a today when it is a today thing. All this as I consider another C4, starting a pedalboard and, you know, actually playing the bass and everything. Which is what I'm doing, hey?
