The Combo Club

I've been unfaithful ....

Here's the bird's eye lowdown on this caper, whatever that means.

Figured with my PBJ suitcase waiting for me to return I could do with a quick fix. Something I could slap in my gig bag for any random backline, and with the C4 and this together pretty well set for anything ....

Do did you just receive a new addition to your audio arsenal or did I miss understand your post?

Too new to say how well I am tracking the Elf's tone stack. More or less starting out with the controls at noon and not strayed far from there. First with the passive bass, next with the active bass. The C4 is a highly articulate cab and I hear great nuance from both basses.

The Elf is in addition to my PBJ Suitcase!

M, a big congrats to you on your Elfin purchase. Gee, I didn’t know TE added an Elf combo amp. Totally cool! I mean, why would you tell would you tell us about this pick up if it wasn’t a...hey...wait...a...minute! There’s no Elf combo out there. You bought an amp head. OMG! Is that even legal?

Quick, who’s the CC’s barrister in good standing? Fearless Leader needs advice. Do we even have someone on retainer? I need a volunteer real fast. Until then, Morrighan, we’re gonna put you in bass purgatory (basement level, one hallway over from the vintage Peavey combo display) for a day or so until there’s a thorough investigation.

Until then, rock on!

My live/main rig. Bottle of Fat Tire is just as important as the rig.

Morrighan, I’ll bet you could save yourself by duct taping the offending head to the offensive cab and voila you have a “combo amp” (tacky finger quotation gesture), but don’t quote me.

Ghost, you're officially quoted. Now unless you're our official counselor at law, offering her the "old duct tape" (tacky finger quotation gesture) trick isn't gonna cut it. Nice try, and you're a good friend, but I need to know the facts before ruling. Get me Perry Mason...or at least his combo brand!

Ahem, I wouldn't know anything about using about using an amp head to augment my combo. Sounds like blasphemy!

Yes, Doctor, I suppose we began down that ugly road of precedence with your Voxy micro head, didn't we? Hmm, what to do, what to do? Where's a good Constitutional attorney when the club needs one?

Auto-da-fé it is. So that I may return to the fold of the CC I now hand-carry a TNT 100 relic on a pilgrimage to the temple of Hartley in Meridian, Mississippi.

It's so fun to hear such big sound from a small enclosure.

When we used to walk uphill to school both ways in the snow I needed 2 1x15s to keep up with the Phil Jonses and wondered where the yellow went brushed my teeth with Pepsodent. My first amp was a combo amp and my second amp was a combo amp and my third amp is a combo amp

KID HAVE YOU REHABILITATED YOURSELF

That looks like more yearbooks than I admit to seeing.

By my recall the kids who made jazz band were the kids who went on to music majors. Don't ever recall any discussion of the business end as a working (or not, or sometimes) musician. Didn't happen in my experience until later. What I got, in the beginning, was a paid-up union card and a "good luck" (yer gonna need it).

Not that it really matters right now LOL

What matters to me right now is how much fun I'm having :) the stout is excellent this month, can recommend a porter come Groundhog Day. He eventually learned to play piano in that movie.
