Okay, that’s a start, but you need to really sell your grumpiness. Better yet, forget it and maintain the sweetness that makes your laundromat such a huge hit!
bordinco90, very cool combo. It’s what we’re all about here at the Combo Club. I’m currently correcting science assessments (no day off for this teacher), but will get to our membership list later on and add you to the historical record. Thanks for sharing!
Great pic, GP, but I have to ask if the band is using one of those new-fangled auto drummers? I hear they’re the latest rage. Bass, guitar, and high-tech. One less cut of the paycheck too.

I recently got a Kustom Groove 310C, and have had it listed in the classifieds here. I'm pulling it though, because it's going to be the big iron for my reggae gigs this summer here in fabulous Newport, RI.
Here it is in full-metal transport mode. 138 lbs, narrow but deep. Awkward to get up and down the old stone and masonry steps to our house, so an appliance handtruck with "stair climbers" makes it happen.

I got my membership some time ago and moved away from a combo until I picked up this Fender Bassman 400 and the thing absolutely rocks. Set flat, all of my basses sound fantastic through it (all three of them) and I am so happy with it (seems that rarely happens on TB).
Razman, hello! That name is familiar to those eyes. That Fender was a good pickup. Anytime an amp can make more than one bass sound terrific then I say it’s a winner! Good seeing you again.

I found an old Peavey Conbo 300 recently too, got it cheap for use in my 80s tribute band rehearsal space. It's getting cleaned up, but even in the state I found it, it sounded surprisingly good. Apparently it's the combo version of the renown Mark III heads of the 80s... lol, that one's also heavy! But to be fair, that one's only around 90 lbs... lol...
Ok. Alright. I give up. If Fearless Leader insists that I'm the one with the Kustom, then who am I to argue? Here's a picture of it with my other stuff in front of my famous garage door. Just call me GoneLudicrous!

‘Dog, good to hear from ya! If you haven’t figured out that I’m bucking for a Section 8 so I can stay home and play bass all day, BUT okay, Gone Plaid owns the Kustom Kasino (also forgive me for spelling the amp’s name wrong too) and yours truly owns the sexy Vox. Got it!

'Morning to Ghost and Lady M. As you may have noticed, I'm posting in the AM because I'm once again home due to wintery weather. Looked like a late start was in the making, but after seven o'clock they called it. Another system coming in over the weekend too. How's it in everyone else's neck of the woods?
Ghost, just read a positive report on the Stage 800's ability to transform headphone listening to more of a live sound. I agree the emulated sound coming out my phones does sound pretty sweet, and at 11:30 at night it's the only choice. I'm gonna get some work done with the hopes of playing out of its speakers later this afternoon. Rock on, guys!

G'morning, iago! Since you're off work today, with nothing to do, (yeah, right), I'll regale you with my latest combo incident.
Last week I got a phone message from the church Music Director asking if I could play 6-string guitar on Sunday, because our guitarist would be out of town. Hmmm, so I started looking at the songs. One I had played 6-string on before, so that one was totally no prob. Another had an overdriven lead guitar tone and I thought, "Hey! A great opportunity for the li'l high gain Vox bass combo amp to shine!". The last song was an acoustic strumming song, simple enough.
But, the more I practiced, the more evident it became that the pre-EQ Direct Out of the li'l Vox wouldn't send the Vox's overdriven tone to the FOH, but just thru the internal speaker. But, I thought, that'll probably be plenty for lead guitar. And the acoustic strum would probably be fine thru the DO. But, wait, use DO for one song and not the other? Well, yes, I'd be switching guitars from electric to acoustic anyway. But then, the song I'd played before had previously sounded really fantastic with some reverb and delay, which the Vox didn't have.
So, out comes the ol' trusty Fender G-DEC 30 amp, infant child of the venerable Cyber-Twin, a progenitor of the popular Mustang modeling amps! Not to be confused with my previously mentioned small-ish bass modeling combo, the Fender B-DEC 30. The G-DEC does not weigh as much as the B-DEC, though more than the Vox, but it will still go easy on my somewhat delicate back. And both it's stereo line outs are post-EQ. Oh, yeah, man!! Hadn't played the G-DEC in quite a while, so it really gave me "da feels" to hear it again. And a little delay added to the high gain lead clinched the gig for the G-DEC. In fact, I wouldn't even have to switch guitars to get the right acoustic sound, since my Epiphone Ultra-339 has both magnetic and nano-mag pickups! So, I designated the 3 presets for the 3 songs into 3 of the 4 buttons on the footswitch, and just had to switch from magnetic pups to nano-mag pup for the acoustic song.
Got to church early, setup the Epi, G-DEC and footswitch, all ready to rock. Then, in walks the regular guitarist with the Music Director!!! I'm like, "What?!?!" and they're like, "Huh??" I tell MD, "I got your phone message and worked up the guitar parts." He says, "Oh, I didn't know I left a message and I didn't hear back from you. So, when the guitarist's plans changed I dropped the matter." I clinched my teeth and said, "OK, I'll go get my bass."
So, I did some thinking while carrying the Epi & G-DEC back the short distance home. After a couple days getting the tones, I meant to call and confirm but time slipped away and I didn't. I grabbed the ultralight Vox and my bass, both in one hand(!), and went back to the church and set up, again. It was both our faults and we both apologized profusely, then got on with rehearsal. And I was still ready before the drummer arrived!
Combos! Gotta love 'em. Nothing else simplifies setup so much. Especially, the lightweight ones!

Agreed. BTW, how much does your G-DEC weigh, and were you able to "easily" move it or was it pushing your back? I'm still thinking that down the road you'll end up with a Studio 40 and that takes care of everything you needed for that Sunday. In the meantime though, the VX50-BA has you covered.
