HA - back in the 70's and 80's, was constantly asked if I was any relation to Jimi and told what a cool last name I have. Don't hear it too much anymore - only from other musicians!
No, I started losing interest in sports when Staubach retired. Then, by the time Landry got fired it was all over for me! I've lo-on-ng been called "you dog" or accused of "doggin' the G" in various circumstances and connotations too numerous and convoluted to fully recall or relate here. So, for really no particularly good reason, that became my handle beginning back in CB days! 10-10, good buddy.
Ah yes - the CB days... my handle was bandmaster - was playing a mean saxophone in those days! Then I wised up and learned to play bass!
Ah! Another ex saxist among us. i went in the Navy as a sax man, came out playing bass.
I know I only thought about this because the pollen is currently inundating the area I live.....

But... I am borderline OCD (thanks Air Force basic training) and like to take care of my things. It does appear to be very nice, but a bit pricey ($66 shipped from UK).
So who else shares my disorder and has your coveted combo covered? When not in use of course.

Yessir! Made all state jazz ensemble my senior year of HS - 2nd chair! Did a stint in the Air Force, but didn't play during that time. Started playing bass shortly after my exit. I've run into lots of bassplayers over the years that have similar story of playing sax and graduating to bass!
There are places here(US)that have/make amp covers.

Add another saxophonist.
First alto then tenor and stayed with tenor. All the standard music education program from marching band to concert band (and for the cream of the concert band) the jazz band. And pep band, all that sort of thing, for I beat Cheech Marin to the punch as I wore Mickey Mouse ears as I played (but no tutu or lone ranger mask, that's his original) in a parade.
On the more serious end of things, Sonny Rollins was my first musical hero and remains so. He's 89 now, I think. And as I listen to I'm an Old Cowhand on his Way Out West album, say to myself - Self, (no, I don't really say that!) there's a master's degree in music transcribing that piece.
The down side to the sax is once you have your Selmer there is nowhere else to go. All the cool stuff is for the cool electric players ... as it should be.
And this is Ray Brown cooking with Shelly Manne as Sonny Rollins goes outside

Yes - I'm considering a Fender cover on amazon that fits the 200 and 500. Dimensions are very close, so would probably work out. $19 free shipping. I dunno if I would be committing a sin or something by putting a fender cover on a blackstar amp!
So true! I was a tenor sax guy. Started on a Bundy and ended on a Yamaha - Selmer is the bees knees! I really took off musically when I made jazz ensemble and we were playing stuff like...The down side to the sax is once you have your Selmer there is nowhere else to go. This was big band with heavy electric guitar and bass and it blew my mind! In a good way!

Oh yeah MF Horn, all the band kids were grooving on Maynard. And in this strange time saw Bill Chase perform with Chase. For real, and everything. But seeing Sonny in person at 17 or 18 is ecstasy (and I may have had a sodie-pop

Martins-all the way. Still have the alto, tenor and C melody plus a Selmer Bari that replaced a Martin Bari that only went up to Eb. These were my dad's horns, now mine. Gathering dust(on the cases).
I was at a ZZ Top concert, very soon after the release of their first album, where "The Reverend" Billy Gibbons appeared sans beard and long hair (in stark contrast to his image on the back of the album cover), wearing black tights, baggy shorts, a curly black wire tail and Mickey Mouse ears! Dusty Hill introduced him as having just put in an appearance at the draft board!
Perhaps the grooming was in hopes of not being made an example. But, I didn't get the whole Mickey Mouse outfit at all. Unless, maybe he wore that at the board appearance, also, looking for a Clinger-style Section VIII?!

Listening to MF sure brought back a pleasant memory or two. In ‘78, I started out on baritone just to get into my college’s jazz band. All I wanted to play was drums but had to wait ‘til a spot opened up. The following year we had two drummers and I never touched another brass instrument ever again.
As for the amp cover, I’m guessing the Blackstar might have more padding, but the Fender is very good for the price. I own two of them. I’m even thinking of picking up another cover to protect my cover...
Sounds like coverup to me. Is maybe hidink from someone?
