Loving the trapeze tailpiece. ^

The yellow and black livery of Markbass certainly divides views. We do sometimes hear with our eyes. For me, I prefer not to see the drivers on my rig. Which puts my aesthetic self at odds with my practical self. Practically speaking, could be fine with any number of great cabs. Aesthetically speaking, need grill cloth.

Agreed concerning the cosmetics, but I wish everyone built their amps, as well as Markbass does. Never anything even remotely resembling a glitch. Cosmetics are subjective, but I wasn't a big fan of the yellow speakers either. The rat fur also drove me nuts too. I'm a tolex guy through and through.

Finally, GP, why admit to calling yourself shallow? Don't hijack it from the rest of us... :laugh:

The Hofner really set me back a bit. (A LOT!) But it was worth it. For me, it's the smoothest bass I've played in a long time. It's been for real 50 years, that I had a Violin Bass I love as much as this "Electric Lady".

El perfecto, gsg! I've always enjoyed looking and playing these unique instruments, but as of recent, I'm gaining a true fondness for this hollow body bass. THere's only one thing wrong with yours, my friend...it's not a lefty!

Conrats on picking this one up and I hope you enjoy many happy years with the Electric Lady!

bhendrix, good hearing from you, fellow CC member. You don't know how close I was last night pulling the trigger on the 30-watt combo. I'd love to hear it first but have no doubt you're in good hands with a Blackstar combo.

Funny thing is the 30 weighs as much or a little more than my Rumble 100, of which I plan on buying some isolation foam for this weekend. Gonna hold off on the new driver until I see a true need for it.

So as I hinted in my reply to bhendrix, this morning #2 ordered what I had casually left in my Amazon cart for my b'day. As soon as she rolls in (Wednesday, I believe) I'll snap a shot with its new stablemate, the Rogue bass. I think they'll get along famously, but I also said that about a hundred other amps over the years. Whom I kidding, I've always been a gear hound and love it. Like everyone else here in this forum I'm looking for the tone in my head and kinda hope I never truly find it. For me, the enjoyment is in the hunt!

Next up, isolation foam to tighten up the Rumbler a bit as well as the mystery amp. Yessir, I am officially on vacation!

The tone in my head came from a 66 Gibson EB-3>63 7ender blonde piggyback Bassman(50[?]W>2x12 cab). Can't afford to replace piece for piece but some day I'll 'hear' it again. or not!
