Thanks for the info. I’m slowly turning my hollow body into the everyday bass, though it’s not my first choice for... say...Pantera.

GP, I was seriously considering taking photos of the basses and amp out in front of my garage door, but with the heat index currently at 97 degrees that idea wilted.

Only 97? Sheesh! It's around 103 here(thus the indoor pix)

Awesome worship rig, 'dog, but I'll be the first to admit that even though the Studio 40 is probably your best choice for your needs, I miss the foxy Voxy and its tubey vibe. Still, great choice in gear!

The Rumble Studio 40 and SS Starcaster made the 4th of July Jam today. If you look closely you can see them behind the chair behind the guy in the blue shirt. It was too hot & humid to bother with actual numbers. Luckily we had big shop fans blowing on the band and audience. (whew!) I also had a relief bass player! A late arrival with a big Hartke 2x10 combo and Peavey Foundation sounded almost as full and punchy as my Studio on the (you guessed it) #9 "Deep Rumble" preset!

I’m headed over to Dinkyland to see what you posted. I contributed the 100c and Jazzer. It’s been a wacky thread to read. I’m beginning to think we bass players “think” we want (and have) a lot more power than we probably really need.

Intentional humility! I thought it odd the OOP had a pic of the showoff 10' tall SVT!

So, what number did you pick? I thought about #000 to match my secret agent number, or 9.92 to match the Vox' weight in pounds. But both of those numbers are too low, implying an arrogantly early membership. Maybe 1000? No, that's too high, like bragging. Maybe 19.92? That's not too high. But is the ".92" part too silly? I mean, there's probably not a 19.91 or 19.93, or even any other 19.9s.

Decisions, decisions. Just what is an appropriate self-selected number that's not too arrogant, nor to humble? At least when you are assigned the next sequential number, like in most clubs, you don't have to agonize over what it says about you, if it makes the right impression, without hubris or affectation.

Yeah, that's a good one. Number 13 will go perfectly with your Fearless Leader uniform! Most people avoid it 'cause of the unlucky reputation, so it's probably not already taken. But, then, there are so many contrarians these days, and even the "born to be wild" crowd to whom anything to do with 13 is greatly to be desired. I hope you relax today. You’re doing an awful lot of thinking! Probably still coming down yesterday’s gig. It did look fun. Was it the Americana group of fellas you play with?

If by "coming down" you mean recovering and rehydrating then, yes, I definitely am still coming down. Slept like the proverbial log last night. There was only a couple from my monthly Bluegrass Jam, a few that I'd played with at some special events, and a couple I just met for the first time. So, some familiarity and some new experiences. Very exciting. I even got to sing into a microphone when the other bass player relieved me. I love singing harmonies!

Today, my eldest daughter from some distance is coming for an overnight visit. Always glad to see her. AND the newly widowed brother-in-law is bringing his 4 very young grandkids for a swim! I have a feeling I'll sleep very soundly tonight, too.

Just sold off my amps and bought a Fender Rumble 100. It's all I need for now and sounds great. I bought a cheap footstool to get it off the ground.
