I'm getting concerned all over again about our Ozzy friend, Giffro! It's not like his outgoing self to be so quiet for so long. Hopefully it's just more ISP technical difficulties, like his last long outage, and not anything medical from his door headbutting experience. He posted in several other threads after that incident for a while, then not!

I just found a made in Italy Markbass CMD 121P bass combo. I like it very much.
Lemme know what you think. That isn't my "regular"(?) band. It's an open mic/jam with whoever shows up. I'd never seen the guitarist in the middle before. It tends to be "does everybody know ____, in _ key?" And away we go. Meet at the end.We’d rather you lose a few gigs and be here among us for years to come, though I can see where you’d be disappointed. BTW, I’m planning on listening to all your video postings this weekend. I’ll make sure to toss you a comment too.

'74, welcome to our happy home of the combo amps. I could not find your name on our registry but if you'd like me to give you a membership number just let me know. You've already met our requirement of an amp pic. That 121P is a very amp that'll do a bit of everything. Mate it to a New York 121 ext cab and you'll unleash the 500 watts the combo can offer. Congrats!
In between today's h'work and plan on listening to all of your tracks in a couple of minutes. with any luck, I'm gonna indulge into some playing myself. Soul Reflection, I haven't forgotten about ya and will try recording the Foxy Voxy first, possible this PM. Teach needs a break!
Just finished all four tunes and was mighty impressed especially being it's not your regular bunch you play with. First of all, it was nice to know all the songs. Who says being on the far-hand side of the age-o-meter is such a bad thing? I thought the overall balance of the band was solid and if you're wondering, yes, your 200c cut through like vintage butta! Dang, that combo is like a Swiss army knife, isn't it? My 100c just wouldn't have had the command of the 15" speaker in an outdoors setting.
Before I continue on, here's the CC's weekend homework: check out GP's YT clips of his open mic show. I think it's really fun to actually occasionally hear what we read on the forum. Anyone who embeds something like this on our pages is welcome to and I think we owe them the courtesy of taking a listen. Our dude here is a player who drives the group as a good bass player should. Show these to any newbie and it's like free lessons.
1) Got a Line on You: one of my fave "old" tunes. If that was the group's first song played it was a great start. BTW, as your Fearless Leader, I'm gonna have to commandeer that beautiful LP of yours, but only after you've made the updates so a lefty can play it!
2) Mustang Sally: I know, you're thinking standard fare that cannot be interesting, but I enjoyed GP's rock-solid walk throughout the entire song. Admittedly, it's a weapon in my own arsenal I've neglected, so I may break his playing down for my own practice. Thanks! Oh yeah, he sings lead so now I've put a voice to the Hawaiian shirt...
3) Call Me the Breeze: Lots of guitar jamming on this one. Think more JJ Cale than Lynard Skynard, but good standard jam material here. Once again, the bass fits in perfectly with the other instruments as GP pushes the guitars along. I believe this is the song where the LP guitar's solo sounded like he was out of tune. Either this one or their last tune. Bass really punched through.
4) Roadhouse Blues: Another good jam tune, this time with a new Strat player joining in who sang as well. I thought this was where the juice harp player was at his best. Again, if this group of guys doesn't play regularly it sure's a testament for years of experience and knowledge when the changes occur, thanks to the rhythm section. Playing the bass offers you an abundance of opportunities to jam with others and these vids are a fine example of that.
Thanks again, Gone Plaid, for posting these. My final takeaway was how I enjoyed watching the bass player hawking the others for changes. As with any open mic performance, if you're not familiar with those you're playing with the luxury of just knowing through past experience when those changes occur you have to watch each other, and even then sometimes it's not perfect. Who cares? That's what makes it live music! You looked like you had fun and that's all that matters. Well, that plus a few dancers out on the veranda...

You are right for the levy’s strap, it’s a 20 year old gift and ready for another 20 years. I’m using fender strap block instead of Grolsch locks because I switched to Heineken a few years ago!

So here's my recently acquired Fender Rumble 150. So far I'm loving this little thing. I don't play in a band, I don't gig,so it rattles the windows in the house just fine.

This wasn't the first bunch of tunes. BIL had plans earlier, got there-with his Smartphone-when he could. He randomly chose what to shoot. We don't use a set list. The leader(LP guitar)has a list of songs that most of us know and he chooses from that.
Got a Line On You: great song; I'd never played b4 about a month ago but had heard it 100s of times, so just 'followed the leader'
Mustang Sally: he kicked it off in 'C' so I thought he was gonna sing it. I do it in 'A'. Bit of a stretch. BTW, the 'frog' voice is not an effect, just me.

For not playing Line before, I thought you did a really nice job. Simple song, but again, the bass really drives it.
I’m sure you were embarrassed at my gushing review but if I hadn’t felt like saying what I said, I wouldn’t have. Your age and experience really shows. It’s where I aim to get in another twenty years!
