Sweet! My club decoder is working perfectly!
I was able to read the entire text above, although the decoder seems to be having some trouble with spelling.
I think that means I'm a neosaur. I like a nice clean sound. I can get it to cut if I need to, and I just like the way it speaks.

I like them. Sounds like some sort of modern take on proto-punk stuff. I will need to listen when I'm in a mood to jam out.
Well, I don't really see the need to make any hasty decisions. I have a 410 Transporter, a 1x18, and a 700 watt head to go with them. I also have a 23 pound GK MB150E-112 that includes a 150 watt amp which I've used to drive the 410 when I needed the extra loud.
My suggestion is to look around, see who makes a combo that has a sound you like (folks here will help you), and pick it up. Then after auditioning it, decide what to do with the big stuff.
Of course, I'm late to the party today, so others have probably given great advice as well...
This has always been the key to keeping a reasonable practice volume in my experience.
Admittedly being in that group, to me, overdriven sounds like somebody blowed* a speaker.
*Southern for "blew".

The growing consensus appears to be the Cab 27 / Cab 47 are voiced brighter (in a good way) than the C4 / C8 etc. I feel 200 watts of Elf and a pair of Cab 27s would handle a lot of gigs. Of course the BG-400 and C4 also cover a lot of gig territory. Two completely different tones!
When I started playing bass in a metal band, there was a lot of interest in Metallica at the time. I remember watching and listening to Cliff Burton play a solo (Anesthesia, I believe), and wondered why he played bass with all those effects on it. I could barely tell it was a bass without looking at it.
Don't get me wrong, I have great respect for Cliff - he was a rare talent and had a mammoth influence on the sound of metal. But his tone was just not for me. I actually learned quite a bit of Anesthesia, and played it clean with an extra dose of treble dialed in on my TUNE bass. I never played it out, but I liked how it sounded.
In the years to come, I've never needed to pick up any pedals to make a bass sound I liked. And lots and lots of bass sounds I didn't like.

Curious how the tone stack on the Orange Terror works. Guessing it's a Fender/Vox/Marshall or some variation? So the knobs to twiddle would be familiar territory for Rumble players? There's a few pedals out there with Baxandall equalizers that might add interesting dimensions paired with that cab ...

I read somewhere in TB last week that for us newbies, we should run B=9:00, M=3:00, and T=9:00. He said that was more or less flat. Right now I’m running B and T around 10:30 (or maybe 10:31) and mids at noon or a fair above. Plenty of bottom end and still punchy.
Much the same as I’ve written about the Stage 800, to get the best out of your amp you have to take the time and experiment. Then after that, take it to a gig and complain how much better it sounded at home!
Agree with you, RR. An occasional effect to enhance a portion of a song is fine with me, even applauded. But overuse is like too many toppings (12 or more) on a pizza. Ya forget what the original flava was!

What I find (not that I'm doing any of that finding right at this moment) is once I have my stage volume and EQ set, I don't touch it again.
The only pedal I ever owned and used back in the days of steam power was a volume pedal. Here in the exciting future, it feels good to have the guy who runs the board compliment my tone

Nah, let it ride a little longer. I’ve been busy lately with...stuff. Let’s put the whole Constitution rewriting thing after the club celebrates my glorious 60th birthday in mid-June. Until then, I like M, she amuses and informs!
C7, might I remind you that you’re asking that question to the Combo Club! Actually, there have many testimonials from former separates players who moved onto the combo, either due to a bad back or wanted something different in sound.
I’m learning you’ve got pretty good taste and I can’t promise the BA210 v2 would be the last amp you ever but, it’s a good-sounding combo and is quite serviceable, depending your goals.
How soon are you looking to buy? If there’s time, do some searching yourself and feel free to ask your friends here. Oh wait, you did!
Wow, congrats, new combo guy! I thought it had pretty good tone at lower levels for practicing and will get pretty loud when you need it. Add a 210 external cab if you need to light it up!
