Okay, after my nap, and between reading a long dull book for school, I checked out the DC bass. What I saw at Guitar Center for $549 was a guitar, not bass. Sad.

So I went in Reverb and found quite a few colors for sale that look to be in fine shape. They’re pretty much in the 8-900 range with shipping attached. So if Mitch McConnell decides to float us another stimulus package I may take a serious look. It’s a Gibson, short scale, looks good to me, and think it’d make a fun project to turn lefty. Take that, Fender!

Right now though, I’ve got bass cabs in my mind and rainbows in my heart. Thanks, GP, for keeping the faith!

Blue, huh? Interesting. A dark blue? I’ll have to surf the oceans blue. I’m wondering, what would you be doing to the white combo to be concerned with getting it dirty? Are doing motocross rock band again? Thought you said you were giving that up for lint?

Motocross? Difficult enough getting on the creeper to get under the old cars. Which I've been working on every evening for the last many. Also why I can't keep a white amp white.

Aha! Pele's Curse got you! Luckily for me, Mrs. Dog knew about it and saved me from it on our first visit there. But, I guess all those Hilo Hattie's clothes and trinkets aren't natively Hawaiian after all. At least, I don't think we've ever suffered from bringing back purchased souvenirs, including my two ukuleles.

Definitely like the bass from the Indy Music Go Round between the two. I think this idea could really work. I'd also have to reposition the strap lock to the opposite horn and it may hang a little lower, but I really like what the bass offers. How's the three-point saddle? I've heard unstable, but hey, I'm loving my violin bass and its wacky saddle/bridge setup. Toss a set of flats on that baby and let 'er rip. I need to do some more reading on the EB-0.

Is combo nirvana an addiction? You know it's so easy for me to fire up this big PJB stack and rattle some things. But of course I'm an adult and would never consider jamming the Bertha Butt Boogie rhythm at volume for a while. On the Stingray. That would be a total waste of time here where time didn't stop — time went more kind of melted like one of those Mouse & Kelly posters — back in March.

A good use of my time is just basic focused practice at "my neighbor upstairs is pregnant" volume. Actually that's a real story, and not mine. Sonny Rollins left his apartment to play to the wind on the Williamsburg Bridge so as not to disturb his pregnant neighbor. Sonny Rollins Bridge Project

So by extension cabinet, if Sonny Rollins were an electric bassist instead, what sort of amp would he choose to use in his flat so his neighbor isn't disturbed? Field's open to all amps through to the present. You know, like Rolands, and Fenders and stuff.

Beni, the Rumble Studio 40 is the mini version of the mighty Rumble Stage 800, with all the same models, wifi, bluetooth, XLRs and FX loops, lacking only the high-power amp and extension cab capability.

But the Rumble LT25 is much more scaled down with many fewer models, no wifi, bluetooth, XLR nor FX loop. The aux, headphones and USB are its only connections. However it connects to your PC with the Fender Tone App for Windows, or Mac with the Tone App for Mac, for firmware updates. And I'm sure that it makes good use of its "greatest hits" of electric bass tones and effects for some of the very best sounds in small practice amp history! Certainly worth a look, but just be aware of the limitations compared to the Studio 40.


Edited to add: Oh, and BTW, the LT25 actually weights 0.2 lb. more than the Studio 40 in a slightly smaller box!

From what I've seen in reviews, the LT25 would more than meet my need there - at almost $200 less. I'd seriously consider the Studio 40 if I planned to gig or jam with it - probably hooking up with my 500c. But for what I play and who I play with, the 500c has me "scattered, smothered and covered" as we say here in Waffle House territory!

I've never dealt with the 3 point. Both my Gibby's have the separate claw and bridge setup.

Just make sure when you plug in that she also plugs in with earplugs.

Yes, I considered the LT25 before getting my Studio 40. The lack of connections was a dealbreaker for me. So far, the Studio alone handles my jams just fine. But I do live in hope of chaining it to my R500c for a bigger gig someday.

It’s the back. Hmm...I thought I copied the front. It’s not GP’s because I figured he’s tired of us talking about it. But, as M was inquiring what Sonny Rollins would if he played bass, I thought a vintage solid state. Clean and dry-sounding.

I also came up with a brand who had an amp that jazzers liked to use but I forgot the name. Mono-something? Help me, folks.
