My old and sold Peavey Combo 300 with added 15"cabinet was delivered by Hercules...I sold them to his son.

The weight must be on the amplifier. My 15 inch cabinet, I had to tie it up with storm cords so it wouldn't fly away.Would it make a difference?
Hey!! It's nice to be popping in again, sorry to be a stranger. I'm often a stranger these days at the Thunderbird Club too... times have me occupied seven ways to Sunday.
That combo sounds, as we say in Rhode Island, *PISSAH!!*. Its got a big deep presence, more high end than I even want, and the mids are like getting a kick in the teeth. I like it a lot!
And yeah it's heavy. Probably around the 80 lb mark- I've been quipping it's about as heavy as a large box full of bricks. if not more. Fortunately I work on a carpentry crew, and though I'm not built like an ape I tend to work like one, so I'm pretty fit.
Don't have an ext cab yet, but if I find a 15 maybe I'll just set it on top of the combo... one wants to choose one's battles, lol!

Had the 300. The T-Max combo is heavier. Lol, I don't know why Peavey stayed with heft for so long, but man they're good amps.
Maybe I'll pull the amp and see...
Yes, and if you look a my signature, you will see I am still sold on (lighter) 15's!
CB, I respect any musician who isn’t afraid of a little added girth all in the name of bass. Now if my back was in charge of the lifting it’d be on strike by now! Play through that Peavey and enjoy!
Before I turn off the lights here in the clubhouse, I thought I'd share with you my packages coming tomorrow...whoops, today. I didn't want to get in the way of all the exciting equipment that's been shown this week, 'cuz everyone's used to me dragging something new into the house.
I decided to save a little of my money-to-spend and am trying something unheard of here in Fearless Leaderland. I'm re-purchasing a cabinet I tossed to the wind four years ago: a Rumble 115 cabinet. It was between that and the Rumble 210 black cab. I know, goes together with the Stage 800 perfectly, but I have a plan. I know, you've heard that one before, but this week I'll unveil it to ya'll. I miss a 15 and decided it'll work nicely with the Terror Bass (actually, I have no idea and somewhat doubt it!)
It comes tomorrow, along with my six colorful 6" cables, a pair of Fender 6" cables, and a Fender cover for the 115. I was also looking at the Bassman 115 Neo cab, and it looks quite nice, but I decided by saving the difference and adding a little more loot, I've got a good head start on a second short-scale bass. And it probably won't be you, Fender!
Other than that, it was a typically-quiet Father's Day.

More like mine in a previous life. The biggest difference that I hope will seal the deal is the Orange doesn’t have the Rumble 500’s tone stack and the Stage 800 has great versatility. I think it’ll work.

The sum of my knowledge about the tone stack on the Orange wouldn't fill a teacup. Totally willing to learn more on my own ... I don't need another amp, I don't need another amp ...
