M, in case you haven't scoured the screen, which I can completely understand, there's an icon down in the bottom and slightly to the right of the center. I'm not running it right now so this is all from memory, but I believe it's next to the metronome icon? Take a peek towards the bottom and click away. I remember turning it on and off though.
Very cool, GP. While I couldn't say if what you recorded can be converted to an mp3 or not, you'd have to find a way to turn it digital to make it available online. Now feel free, anyone, to disagree with me, but I believe that's word.
Not that you probably give a hoot, and I don't blame ya one bit because I used to feel the same way, you'd want to blow some of that gig money you earn on interface hardware. Buying it as an all-in-one package, complete with the interface, software, microphone, and headphones (I'm thinking Presonus) would run you between two and three bills. Mine, just the interface and software, ran under a hundred by one penny. You've probably got mics and 'phones, so with a decent computer and the DAW, you could make outstanding recordings. If you're interested, let me know.

You, my friend, have by far the most unique setup in Canada...and maybe the world! What's cool is you could pull any of those off and have an immediate low-level practice combo ready to go.
They aren't really known for their bass amps these days, but it seems to work with my Hofners.
I can certainly testify to that. There's something about that combination that just works. Do you like the British invasion tone? It's unbeatable. I'm also betting Rob owned one of those two combos you mentioned, Doc, probably the 25.
Love that darker sunburst on your Hofner. Good-looking setup.

I've not fired up the software since I set it up a few weeks ago.
The metronome I use on a daily basis is on my smrtphne and is called Tempo. I paid the 99 cents or whatever and place the phone on my music stand with a line out to my Ampeg. For "recording" I use the headphone out to one earbud so the metronome is silent to the phone. The feature in Tempo I like most is a timer, as I practice in five minute focused intervals.
Well if ya decide ya wanna, a friend of mine got one of these and says it works very well...

My tone is a combination of Geddy, Macca, Steve Harris and Geezer. I love it! I'm using my 68 mostly these days. It has only one working pickup, which is a single coil, in the neck position. I apologize if this is a repeat! I've been talking up this bass lately to anyone that will listen!

I have numerous cassettes of the band I was in in Miami from ~73-84. Some mediocre recordings of some well played music. Some have been converted to "files"(?) by my BIL. I'll ask him how to access them. The unfortunate part is that the tracks aren't separated. Put the tape on and 40+ minutes later it's a file-or whatever it is. The tapes were recorded live during numerous nights at our hotel lounge gig. There's a wide variety of genres-like from "Girl From Ipanema" to "Celebration" to other semi current music from the time all on each program. I have had a Tape2USB cassette to digital converter. The quality was passable. However, these were mixed tapes and On Air checks from when I was a radio DJ. They were all C90s. 45 min per side from the late 70’s to late 80’s. That was too much for the little cheapass converter. However, it used Audacity and if I had had a real cassette player, that could have used the Line In on the analog to digital converter and actually worked. As GP indicates, you still need to start and stop for individual files, or cut and paste afterwards. Too involved for what most of us have in mind for entertainment, but might be worth it for a demo tape. We just sold our last vehicle to have either a cassette player or cd player (it had both in ‘08!). Now its all ‘media’.
For a little bit more, I had a professional studio engineer do it for me. He tweaked a couple things and made it sound even better. Still not good, but better!
I'm having a hard time imagining that tone. Got a sample to share?
