The demo tape one of my old bands used to use had me going to the wrong note at the end of "White Rabbit." It never seemed to matter to those that gave us the gig. Bugged me constantly. I am not going to share it.

Hey, that is great. How long do you think you can get out of a charge? I know Phil did a video on the D4 and I think mentioned it, but then it’d depend on what battery you have. No matter, you’ve now got a portable combo to take wherever you want.
I’ve got mine out to use for the coming days. First time I’m gonna try my completed board through it and see if I can run through the combo, via the line our to record.

Well, that's one thing about our tapes. There are no mistakes even though they're all live recordings.

Please do so if you can. I'm not planning on going airborne, but am definitely curious. I'm doing a little playing right now, and with my compressor, it's given my bass a shot of energy right to the Double Four, and it handles it like child's play. Sounds like a piece of woody heaven.
It’s a great combo. definitely a floor combo. Doesn’t sound good perched on things. Also it isn’t fond of my newer Ric. Seems like some bonding time is in order
You said it, Red. That combo thinks it’s a full-size amp and really needs to stay on the floor and close to a back wall. But when you do, oh the fun you’ll have.
As far as individual basses go, my Jazz sounds good but my Beatle bass has all the woody character I love to hear. And after playing it for the past three hours, it offers more detail similar to a quality home loudspeaker.
It may be shy in the BOOM department, but the notes you okay are honest and accurate. Each time I play this amp I love it even more, and that is bad news for RR!

Speaking of Vox, the Vox tuner I'm running now is top drawer. I tune an open E like nobody's business. With the TC Unitune I generally need to play the harmonic. The Vox is dead on, and I can probably use it without my glasses. For whatever reason I take off my glasses on stage ....

At 2:30 AM, I'm still in dreamy-time. Lexicat has not even jumped on the bed to tell me she's hungry yet. That started just after 6 AM this morning. She let me sleep in a bit.
As far as Morrighan's comment about the ability to play, I have to say that I'm nearly always sure that I'm the worst bass player in any room. But I suppose if she's asleep, and I'm awake, I may be able to play better then.
You may need to introduce them slowly. Put them on either side of a door, let them smell each other from under it. If they seem more curious than aggressive, then allow them supervised time nearby each other. And slowly let them sniff each other and see how they react. Be careful if they start to fight to assert dominance - you don't want to put yourself between them.
Just having a hard time understanding Geddy, Harris, and Butler going through a 500/1. Not that I disbelieve you, just that my feeble imagination does not cover this much ground.
My sound is...well, I don't know. Just what I like I guess. It changes depending on what bass I'm playing. Which is why I have 9 basses, none of which has a twin in my house.
I did see that MF no longer has open box models for sale at reduced prices. Reverb has a nice used one, but it's black, and, well, I have two black amps already, so red is the color that holds a place in my heart this time. I'll have to keep checking the normal channels and see if I can nab a bargain. My original idea of getting a handful of tiny bass amps for a shootout has mostly been nixed by playing my tiny GK amp and finding that it sounds soo good that I have a hard time filling up my GAS tank for a new amp.You said it, Red. But you and Red have been doing a great job!
I got in the habit of tuning starting with the first string, G, and making my way to the E, after always starting with the lowest string. I have no idea why either.
I'm sorta strange, but y'all knew that. Anywho, I tune G-D-A-E, all at the 5th fret since I avoid open strings. So actually C-G-D-A.

Yip, I always tune the G first, then across / down to E. And for no particular reason, either. When I put new strings on, though, I always string the E first, then G, A, D. I enjoy installing new strings, and getting to know them. For now, both basses have good string matches (Chowny CHB-1 = La Bella LTFs, Stingray = D'Addario tapewound). Careful now with strings on the Ray as this old truss rod ain't what she used to be, ain't what she used to be. Careful with the 'Ray in general.
