10, 2, 2, 10 is close enuff fer jazz-or whatever else I play. Seriously, it's gonna change some for every different room yer in. And it/they are a good starting point, then adjust prn.

There ya go, Roddy. Fixed it for ya. You not a'posed to read the whole page, just the linked post! The context was a very confusing time. I was as bewidered then about it as you are now.

Yes, there were a few flames back then, but they have since died out. But, I believe we've licked our wounds, learned our lessons and moved on.

Should anyone be lucky enough to own a Rumble they can rest assured they will be treated with R-E-S-P-E-C-T in The Rumble Club.

Since owning my Rumbles, I have never tried those settings because my ears texted me threatening to never listen again if I even attempted it!

Actually, bass/upper mid/treble controls are fine, but for me the lower mid is still too high. I usually drop it to 10:00, the same as the bass. Really, some of you use this setting. Hmm...I may have to try it if just to see it doesn’t leave any mud trails on the floor after playing.

As I said, it's a good starting point. Every room-and every bass-is gonna require a little tweaking(Not twerking. IDK if that helps at all). The Rumbles EQ completely different from any amp I've ever used b4 including 3 different piggyback Bassmans. Live, learn, and f---* with.

Actually, I think we’re now pretty much being treated with respect everywhere. There were a few naysayers that scoffed at the Rumble for a few years, but they seem to have pretty much quieted down, and the Rumble series now seems to be recognized for what it is - a series of good-sounding practical workhorse amps. I’ve never seen so much as a raised eyebrow when showing up with my Rumble 500 on a gig.

Especially when you carry yers in in one trip.

I'd noticed over the years that SVT's have been the 'go to' bass amp for bands guesting on TV shows. I fully expect to see the stage hands balk at schlepping those things when one guy could easily carry a(500c, S800, whatever)and an extension[if needed]cab(210, 115)in one trip.

Hmm, I think you're talking apples while G-dog and I were talking oranges. I was referring to the Rumble club on Talk Bass, not about people owning Rumbles being judged by those who don't. I've not heard of people with the Rumble combos being given grief for their amps. I'm sure it happens, but I've not seen it first hand.

For me, I love to hear about different equipment from mine, and I don't think I've cast aspersions at other folks' amps. That was why I followed the link over to the Rumble Club. On that page at least, there were some very snarky and pedantic posts, and that made me run back to the friendly Combo Club. My Doggy friend clarified by putting what I saw in context, and so here we are. :)

If you like it, play it! If it sounds good, turn it up! :woot:

Having been a member of the Rumble Club for some years, I’ve seen a lot of not-so-nice posts about Rumbles and those who use them, both inside the Rumble Club and elsewhere on TB. I’m happy to say that they have largely subsided.
