Very nice - congrats! How you like your Auralex isolation riser? Thinking about investing in one as I run into some bad floor coupling problems sometimes and I'm not a fan of the metal floor stands. Is it worth the dough?

) of the railroad tracks. I'm immune to their sounds anymore, I'll only know if a train is passing by either the dogs ears perking up and looking in that direction, or the occasional moving items on shelves (if it's a big-un)!!

CG, welcome to our humble clubhouse. You are among fellow bass players, combo crazies, but most importantly, good friends.
I’ve read through all the posts, enjoying all the interesting topics. So let’s tackle this one.
I’m gonna take ya down a different avenue and I want you to give it serious consideration before deciding. Instead of buying one fairly expensive amp, how about one now and one down the road when you need it?
I’d consider purchasing a quality practice/low-power jam amp that will get you along until you’re ready to go ‘big to gig.’
Now, if you like your Orange combo then I’d keep that and use it at home. If you’d like a little more flexibility then yes, a modeling combo might be one you’ll want to take a serious look at.
The Fender Studio 40 (popular here) for four bills would be my #1 choice for you. Yes, you can add pedals to it, but you may be conflicted to want to use them because the effects are excellent.
Take the money you saved, $600, and continue adding a dollar a day until you a) hit $800, and b) are ready to join a band and begin playing out. Then take that wad of cash and go out and buy either a gigging combo like the Stage 800. What’s nice is the setting you create with the S40 can be duplicated on the S800. Same tones for different rooms.
Of course, there are so many options you might want to see what everyone else homes up with. Again, you could keep the Orange and take a look at any number of brands out there. I like Ampeg, but would look at the separates over their combos.
As for Orange, their combos, to me, are expensive for their power and so I’d recommend the Terror Bass head with a 115, 210, or 410 cabinet. I hear the TB is really good and it has Morrighan dreaming about it with any of the menagerie of cabinets she has.
So there a few ideas for you. Make sure to either take a photo of your Orange combo or after you make a new purchase shoot a pic and post it here. Doing that and asking for a number will make you a member. Thanks for stopping by!

Very nice! Yes, I have wood and concrete floors to deal with mostly and I hear the Auralex is the bees knees in dealing with coupling. So I guess it's another item on the GAS list to be had....

Taking your advice! Actually, I was giving that first consideration because it’ll allow me to do some tonal adjusting using the models when recording. Definitely an advantage the Fender’s modelers have.
I actually did sell my whole pedalboard besides my Sonic Research tuner. I definitely will report back after some time with the Legacy combo.
