The Combo Club

Rocked the big Eden combo Friday night...

Careful @iagtrplyr , my thoughts may be toxic...:roflmao:

It seems to me you might be happiest with one of the newer and maybe neo featured models, as all the vintage combos were heavy (>50lbs).
Having said that (& if you agree), I must admit I know little about the current GC inspired Acoustic gear.
Maybe someone else could field that.

Thanks for the reply! Nah, no one is touching my earlier new Acoustic combo amp query. I was kicking around the idea of grabbing one of the new wedge-shaped combos, most likely the 1-10" because there's not a ten currently in the stable, but I have to hear one tidbit of info yet. It might be because no one has purchased one to review. Maybe I'll have to bet he first. Nah again, I've moved on, thank you. That darned Rumble 100 has taken out all the air in the balloon as far as combo purchases are concerned for right now. Why does it have to sound so good to my ears?

Combo? I've been meaning to build one for a while. I'll get on it ASAP. View attachment 3137248

Yes! And when you do, present it to us in form of a picture and you shall be granted unlimited rights in the Combo Club. I think that's an awesome idea, putting your own together. How about running a journal from start to finish? I'll bet there'd be quite a few of us interested in something like that. Please consider it if you're going that direction.

biguglyman (one of my fave usernames in the club), how the heck are ya? I'm not an Eden expert, but would that be the EN410? If so, and I'm assuming it is, that thing must have some pop. I looked the specs and it's sensitivity is a whopping 104db. You could just about whistle through it and it'd be loud! How much does that pup weigh?

I've posted a few DIY amp build threads on TB already, but now that I'm saddled with Commercial User status it may or may not be kosher, depending on various technicalities. One of my luthier customers requested a combo build for his NAMM booth this year, but for my own usage I would probably be shooting for something much smaller and less blingy, mostly for jams with my bluegrass/Americana oriented friends. Maybe I'll just do both!

Doin' fine, thanks. This is an Eden Nemesis RS410 combo. Not sure of the weight. I can (barely) lift it into the back of my Honda Pilot. It is on wheels though. Not sure how it's specs compare with the EN410 but I know it's LOUD. Bought it to fight off two guitar players with Marshal half-stacks. Mission accomplished. 320 watt head built into this.

If ya wanna get the guitarists to play quieter, just put "charts" in front of 'em:smug:

Did some digging and came up with 62 pounds.

Thanks for the data. Honestly, that weight number really doesn't sound too bad, but then I'm not the one lifting it into the Honda. A few years ago I owned an Ampeg B2 15" combo (St. Louie-made) and it was just shy of 100 lbs. Talk about an unhealthy exercise trying to lift that into the back of a Taurus station wagon...yeow!

I won't even mention the days when I gigged with a Traynor YBA-3 head and two Fender bottoms: 2X15 and 4X12. I later "downsized" to an SVT 8X10. I'm getting to old for this s**t... (62)
Never had the YBA-3 but I did have a Blue Line SVT and 810 bottom. Yeeesh! And I'm 3 weeks into 73-waaaay too old for this spit.

Gigging with a broken bone in my foot this weekend.
Took a dive in a parking lot last week. BL is having hip replacement surgery so I have to be there so we have a solid offering.
Was looking forward to using the ACC 126 in my avatar, but because of my injury I won’t be able to =(
It’ll be my high-tech rig because it’s already loaded in my suv.
As it is someone else will be moving my gear for me ‘cause I’m on crutches for a few weeks. I:bassist:I

YIKES!

Yoo-hoo. Is anybody awake? Been awfully quiet on here. Roll call!:)

Roll call? Yes, please! With butter, if you don't mind.
Role call? Present, but no accounting . . ...

Sorry to hear it, ghosty. And I'm having "minor back surgery" next week. How's that for an oxymoron? Probably from lifting all those fridges and heavy combos all those years.

Hey, what is this? The GOFs?!?

I gotta go . . . ...
