The Combo Club

Most combos will fit in most cars. That sporty roadster will eat a PJB Double Four whole and ask for more :wacky:

M, an old Hot Wheels cars will eat a PJB D4 and still offer up a ride to an NBA star!

Old gigmobile(still have)is a 1996 Ford Aerostar w/ 348,000 miles on it. It would hold it but might not make the round trip. I keep it in case of emergency-and cos nobody'll gimme anything for it. Everything works but the cruise control.
BTW, as much as I would love to have the cab, I've lost a potful of cash this year for cancelled gigs. Can't justify the cost of any gear until/unless things pick up. Or the prize patrol comes to mi casa.

Can I always count on Swink to deliver? "Yes, Kenny, I'll take the 120 grand 'Peg combo. It's in okay shape too. Can I offer you a tip?"

Swink, at this rate I'll be broke before next Thursday's second turkey leg...

Thanks for bird dogging for me!
The B25 B. That's what I had, not the V4B. Had 2 cabinets. Best sounding rig I ever played. Just could not keep up with the loud band back then. No PA support. Made my SG sound amazing.

... .... So here’s your weekend homework, if interested. Come up with one used item you’d give your left (insert your own noun here) for and why. Good luck and have some fun!

GD - Rumble Stage 800 - I have the Studio 40, which I love, and can reinforce it with
the Rumble 500 combo, which I love, but that's a combo of combos!
The RS800c beats that in a single combo!

I used to strap my guitar to the front of the sissy bar on my Yamaha XS650E, and my combo to the back of the bar, on the rack. Bit of a pig to ride at that point, but it worked. Weirdest ride? Drizzly night in Atlanta. On my way home from my only time taping for tv (I don’t think it aired). I had a waterproof tablecloth wrapped around the guitar and amp. Cop pulled me over because the tablecloth had slipped and was covering my taillight. When I explained, he helped me fix it so I could make it home safely.

Recon- Any tube-powered combo, cause I’m a nerd and think vacuum-controlled electrons are cool.
Miles: Fender PS400 amp (Recon, you'd love it) . And bring Rich Koerner back to get me up to speed on maintenance.

RS800c are still easy to find new... Second hand this is the best deal I found after a 10 min scan.

Since y’all don’t seem to want to buy me that fretless (cough @swink )and to get me back on topic, here are some pics of a combo I used to have.

It’s a v2 Fender Rumble 30 (shout out to my Rumble Club buddies though they’ve already seen it.)

This is the amp that got me hooked on wedges:

If you like the Rumble sound and you like wedges, this amp is perfect.
It has the v2 Rumble tone which is pretty much the same but that some Rumble connoisseurs prefer to the v3.
(If you like one, you’ll like the other. They’re not THAT different.)

Also it’s 25 pounds (maybe 30 but not more than that) so it’s very portable. A lot of the v2 line was really heavy. The larger version of this is 55 pounds and is still only 75 watts into a 12”. Fender figured out the weight thing for the v3s.

This one is 30 watts into a 10” so you’re not going to hang with a loud drummer, but if you want your Rumble tone in a small portable wedge to play with acoustic guitar players using a PA, it’s perfect.

The Rumble King himself @G-Dog helped advise me when I bought it.

The Fender 400 PS Bass, though definitely not a combo, is possibly the single most awesome bass amp ... ever!

I know it kind of sounds low-endian but right now what I'd like to see most under the Festivus Pole is

M — a new Hagstrom Swede in cherry.
