It took me some time, til 6:10, to clock that one.....
I’m back after a long hiatus of toil and work. Vacation is upon be. Though I’ll try to skim the past six days, I felt this needed a reply.
Yes, ‘themickster, you could look at or they way, no doubt. But that could be said by me on a daily basis like most players I would think.
My tongue ‘n cheek response could also be construed as when you’re listening to yourself while playing and just don’t like what you’re hearing, wrong notes or not. And because of that I wasn’t inspired to push along. Simple as that. I think that might be why players look for that certain tone to propel them to better, more inspired playing.
As for Markbass, I’ve tried a couple of times, love the build, and respect those who made it work for them. For my ears, it’s a little too dry with that mid-forward sound I don’t care for. I’m not a scooped guy either, but admit to leaning a little more left then right. All of which has less to do with playing ability, IMHO, and more to do with a bass player’s personal satisfaction.

But I am delighted to be back in the Club after so many rotations of our planet. See what I mean? December was so crazy, but with twelve days off I can indulge in a little relaxing time finishing up the bedroom recording studio before 2020 falls. Yes!

Now that I have my GT1000CORE I've been working on slimming down the chain. I decided to put my polytuner and all my MXR pedals into the Ampeg as I feel they all compliment the vintage and rock tones. And oh boy am I loving the classic vibes. The 10-Band is helping me bring out more volume from the BA210 and clean stuff up when it's cranked.
All of my boss and Darkglass stuff will feed the Markbass for the modern tones. I haven't redone that board yet though as I have way too many options and I'm not positive how I want to arrange it all yet.

Now there ya go. American iron at its best. I’m a sucker for that first series and if someone in a red suit dropped a BA-115 in my stocking later this week, I know I wouldn’t have to worry about returning it.
It is and was. In my opinion, I liked V1 which I thought had more of a B-15 vibe as opposed to V2’s SVT-like tone. Ahh, who am I kidding? They’re both good.
Reminds me of my Christmas present that just arrived this afternoon, but in a handy-sandy pedal-like form says Ampeg on it. SR, it arrived!

Yeah, but with a little more whomp and volume! Big difference in price too, but they’d have to pry your D4 out of your frozen fingers (MI reference) before you’d trade for a Pathfinder 10...and I like Vox.

That is one big combo, yet lightweight for its size. Reminds me of the State 800.
Ha ha, SR, you old rascal, you. I was decked out in my elfin Abby Road sweater, colored lights, and Santa cap.
Though we were fairly low in the mix, I swear I could here the driving P-bass compared to all the boutiquey basses in the video. There were some nice ones too, but the Precision fit that song.
