The Combo Club

I know it's not a combo, but it's the feast of perpetual love and I would like to share this : the fretted sister arrived yesterday joining my fretless fearless Nobby - cadeau de Noël :woot:

So, I realised you turn 10 pages in the thread over 3 days - are you the talkbass-champions??? You get any reward for this. Let's turn that quickly to 700 - I volunteer to be an ambassador for this :):) already cross-fertilising on the Wicks forum
You may also want to check out the mediocre bassist forum. Some of the same folks that you've met here are also posting there, but the topic gets even more wide ranging (if you can believe it).

Oh, it's a wide definition for membership. After all, they let me in. So don't worry, if you know which part of the instrument you fret the notes on, you'll be fine. :smug:
Ha ha. I’m sure the bar for entry is pretty low. TBH I feel that I’ve progressed a lot for someone who’s only been playing for about a year. Don’t think I’ll ever be able to slap and pop but I can improvise a decent bass line to just about any song now and between my Ampeg combo and new Sterling Stingray short scale I’ll be read to join a band if were ever allowed to socialize again.

Slapping and popping is, to me, unnecessary. If it is, I would find another band.

I am counting on the vaccine to be allowed to socialize and, perhaps, join a band even though I am a GOF.

I've been playing on-and-off for more years than I'd prefer to think about. I don't slap or pop. And am not so good at improvising a decent bass line to just about any song. So you are already beyond me!

I've also got a SBMM StingRay shorty. Have you posted your pics over at the SBMM Stingray Short scale ?
They are also fine folks.:D

Permission granted. Let’s go get 700!

TB champs? Nah, we’re just in a friendly, talkative mood. It comes and goes. I’ve enjoyed the topics.
