Oh, I see, so you are now calling me an antique? So that means you are a YOF (younger old fart)...this name calling has got to stop;).

Good point. Of course, I never thought antique would necessarily begin at 70. If I’m vintage then you’re vintage +. I’d say antique isn’t until at least...71?

Aussie Player, hubba hubba! Wow, is that a beautiful bass. The amp’s not to bad either, but that LP is to die for. If my two vehicles had a shine half as nice as your bass does right now it’d be summer.

That doesn’t come as a lefty, does it? Thought not, but I wish it did. Beautiful!

Hey, are you someone I recently invited to pop over to our club? The name sounds familiar. I don’t believe you are a member, but if you’d like your very own number all you need to do is ask. You’ve already posted a great pic. Let me know. The Hartke gets you in.

I already posted the Hartke Combo pic on your forum. (Different bass)

Gotcha. So I gave you a number then? If not, you can have me fired. I’m not on my computer and can’t remember. I’ll take care of it tonight if I need to though.

Regardless, I must ask what polish you used on your bass? It really brings out the depth of that burst. I may ask for it on Fearless Leader Day coming up in a few months.

We're all on about the cats that are being set up now
Official Nordstrand Acinonyx Cat bass club

Mine is in Lake Placid Blue with the parchment pickguard. Bought it on Christmas Day for completion of 40 weeks of Ari Cap's Music Theory for the Bass Player, and for my (then) pending 65th birthday. Perhaps — and a big perhaps — it'll be here ... can I wish for within this week? Because we've got a breakout room on our monthly MTftBP Zoom and ... you know how bass players are about basses. I know I am, but what are you? :roflmao:

FWIW still recording from the DI of my combo :woot:

Our question is answered. I hope the others don’t mind sharing playing time with your new bass.

In the Saturday night FWIW file, I have one submission to the club: this month’s orchestra recording of, You’ll Never Walk Alone. This is our largest vocal attempt and I think it sounded pretty good.

Your FL nabbed his biggest swath of video real estate this month. The payoffs are finally starting to...pay off. Doggie may need more bandwidth for his archives!

Using the P on this one and the PJB. I’m sure you’ll be able to pick me out. Hope you enjoy it.

Diminished and diminished dominant scales are more likely to take center ring than a bass, but we all know how things are ....

By some chance, yes, you're quite visible :woot:

.... so what's all this with people playing their instruments at home?

Long story long. First of all, my apologies if I haven’t explained my last year. I know I’ve shared a few of the vids but maybe I never explained the project. Here goes.

I've been doing this since last year around this time. At first, it was to set a work record for the largest online ensemble and we got that. We've been interviewed by a German magazine and made their TV too.

Then the director decided since he couldn't perform live that he'd take on this project. It's pretty much made up of excellent European orchestra players but there's a number of us from elsewhere. If you go back to our early videos he shows you where we're all from.

So each month we get a new song either he chooses or we vote on, get our music and a midi recording to work with, and then I make a recording of myself playing it. I send it off to Germany by the due date and he weaves his magic. It comes out at the end of each month.

I paid $40 for the year to cover music rights and that's it. Cheaper than a nice bottle of single-malt Scotch and it keeps my sanity. My subscription runs out at the end of May and I’m not planning on re-upping or maybe select by the month which you can do.

If anyone’s interested in joining the orchestra or you’re just curious, let me know and I’ll give ya the CSO link.

Thanks for asking, M.

It's actually a great opportunity to see proof that the FL knows how to read and play at the same time...amazing;). Of course, now we have to see if he can play and chew gum at the same time:D.
