You had yourself a mighty nice day, Doggie! Thanks for sharing the sights and smells of your gig. How were the sounds? Did you guys sound good after all the months away? I'm betting so. How'd the Voxy do? Are you gonna tell me you cut through all of the instruments and the outside noises? What did you do, by the 500-watt version that was secretly sold by Vox to its most loyal customers? Glad you had a good time though!
Wow, Doctor, you're in the ER with a serious situation! I Googled this because it's been a while since I had to think about such things. As long as you filter out the low frequencies, the tweeter will not change the impedance. Here's the page:

The question I'm wondering is the tweeter from the Peavey a piezo tweeter, which is full range and wouldn't need a capacitor, or is it maybe a dome tweeter which most likely would need one? The difference is you can't burn out the piezo (but they tend to sound like crap), but you can fry about any other tweeter because they can't take the lows, thus tend to be part of a crossover network that protects them. It all depends on what Peavey installed in the Max combo.
2. Yep. Don't mix them or a province in Canada may go up like a Roman Candle.
3. Since the leads are so short, about anything will work, but I'd say maybe a 22-gauge solid core wire.
4. If the Peavey has a crossover network inside, wire it up to where the old tweeter was at. You could splice into the woofer, but again, only if the tweeter can handle all the frequencies the woofer can. if not, you run the risk of answer #2!
Now if someone has better ideas for Doc Intrepid, feel free to add to my ramblings. Don't spend too much, but at the same time if you want it to work then do the job right. Let us know what happens!
In reverse, I don't eat 'bait'. I used the 100 alone this AM for the Jazz Brunch gig(on which we got hosed $-wise). It's a great(well, good-mosquitoes)place to play. Management are 18 karat, four door, A-holes.
Hi-Mids actually up 1 #(usually @2), VINTAGE and BRIGHT(presence)both in/on.
Took the 5er. Couldn't get the tone I wanted. Gots to rethink a few things.1 hour paid gig at an ALS*. Easy money, laid back, our regular(not "normal")configuration. Couldn't get the Epi EB-0 and R100 EQ'ed quite right. 'Nother gig at 9AMtomorrow[Sunday]. I should be awake by the middle of the second set...maybe. Might take the 5er...or not.

You know, over by Hooterville? Or as Mrs Douglas calls it, "Hooters-ville". (She must be thinkin' of them gals from Petticoat Junction startin' a restaurant there, or sumpin'.)
The sounds hadda whole lotsa good moments, and a few not so much. We played stuff mosta these guys, and one gal, been playin' all they lives, but it's just a couple years before last for me. Usually, I love it when this one multi-instrumentalist puts down the fiddle and picks up the guitar, 'cause he likes to play some hillbilly swing with lotsa jazz chords! And when I can hear where he's goin' I love to follow along. Well, he left me in the dust due to the fan & A/C noise a couple times. And since he was also "a-singin' inta the can" I couldn't see the guitar chords he was playin' neither!
My li'l foxy Voxy did cut thru the whole shebang! Gain about 3-4, heavy on the bass & lo mids, light on the hi mids & treble, volume around 5 or 6. Each pickup at about 7-8 with tone rolled off. If I'da played any louder I wouldn't a-heard the other instruments a'tall! Remember, they's all acoustic and I got the only amped instrument, 'ceptin' when a fiddler leans inta a mic.
Watt?? A 500-watt version? A VX500BA? Guess I didn't make the list, but sounds interesting!

GP, I know you don’t like shrimp. Bad joke, but I still liked it. Here that place looks to have such a cheery Gillighan’s Island kinda vibe, you’d think management would be great to deal with.
It’s nice to know a hundred-watter can still be used to entertain the masses.
Imagine a 200-watt 115 or 210 with the NuTube circuitry. You’d have tons of headroom and new respect from the fiddler!

No matter how low we keep the volume-we always start with a few instrumentals-we always get the obligatory "turn down". If $ was no object(it is), I'd buy an AEB and not turn it on at the beginning.
