The Combo Club

Great idea. I do that myself on a doc where I list the model and all of the settings. Last week I decided to reset the combo’s computer because my settings needed updating.

With it set back to when it was new, I added what I wanted with the settings I typed out and then tweaked them to satisfaction. I then updated my doc and put the new date down when it was done.

I also do a backup of the system just in case, but keeping it on my computer’s hard drive.

BTW, if anyone is interested in hearing my bass recording to a song by the newgrass group Show Ponies entitles ‘Whiskey and Wine,’ PM me with an email address and I’ll send it to ya. For scientific purposes, obviously.

Ill listen to you if you listen to me. Lolol. Now I'll figure out how to PM on here.

For Bass, I'm with you! And for a bass forum, I know I'm taking liberties.
For purposes of eventually recording, I need a few for the Acoustic. And my Voice Duplicator sure helps make up for an average, at best, voice. All through my bass combo.

I read in one of the articles I saw yesterday that by bypassing those super low rumbling frequencies it allows your amp to not have to work as hard to get those thereby increasing power/watts. That’s pretty cool if true.

And on recording consoles at least a “low cut” switch cuts below a certain threshold my current board is 100hz which has been used to clean up vocals for many moons.

Yah, but, some of us like to tinker (not tinkle) , and I use mine to learn new tunes by playing along with covers. It can be more fun that trying to play with real people and their "personalities" .

Wow. We have certainly been busy today!

I use a Spire Studio for recording. It’s pretty straightforward like the Scarlet but has a built in mic. It has a pretty nice app for your phone or tablet that lets you do some simple basic editing and of course you can always import into a DAW if you want to.
It has a bunch of onboard effects but I never use those. That’s the equivalent of using an Instagram filter for your wedding photos.
I will say the interface can be a bit cumbersome but the new version seems better.

I think it’s a lot harder to play someone else’s music. Especially well known tunes. You have to have everything down because people know what the tune should sound like.

Wow, I was amazed at the ($499) price tag! That's more than I paid for my Scarlett and Reaper with money left over for an inexpensive laptop.

I use mine to record rehearsals sometimes. You know you don't always sound as good as you think you do lol. It's a good way to critique the band. I also use it to learn new songs. And by recording covers it helps me to be a better musician. To think about what goes in to the process. To consider how all the parts work together. And yes occasionally I'll try to write and record an original song. But as @GonePlaid said its a rabbit hole! Monitors, headphones, boards, effects, stands, mics. I could go on. But again, the kids nowadays. Way less expensive if it's all done in a PC. I know, GET OFF MY LAWN!

Ok it’s gone up. I paid about half that.
Perhaps prices have changed a lot. But when I was shopping the price was about the same as a Scarlet since the scarlet didn’t come with a mic.

That sound like a plan. They say the 50hz cycle is about right. How will you accomplish that? No extra cables required. I like that

I am a career electronics type. It will be easy to rig a little breadboard at the input jack(inside of course).

Are you talking about a high order (18db/oct or 24dB/oct) passive HPF?
