Johnny Fingers, welcome to our combo paradise! I'd like to welcome you to the CC and ask if I can give you a membership number since you've already provided us with the required amp image? I took a peek at this particular Ampeg, which he noted can be retrofitted with bass speakers (thus allowing it to be accepted) and it's pretty cool. My favorite part of the description is, "It's been described as similar to a Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus but with a brutal high-gain channel added to it." wow, Atilla the Hun's combo amp...from soft and supple to searing!

Ve-er-r-ry in-ter-r-res-tink! So! Any guitar combo, which can be retrofitted with bass speakers (and which ones can't?), is an acceptable bass amp combo! Yes, ve-er-r-ry in-ter-r-res-tink, indeed. Hmmm ... ...
Knew this one was coming, but I got a little extra sleep last night so I'm better prepared for the flamethrowing. This one is dicey, I'll admit, but the company is well known for its bass amps and I think that's half the battle. The other half is getting enough here in the club to agree it's okay for someone who could easily say he or she has installed bass speakers (be creative, Johnny) and has played it with four thick strings.
Otherwise, does the Bassman Club cancel out everyone who joined who has the 4X10 original and uses it for guitar? Remember, 007, I also have a Rumble modeler and sometimes enjoy that lightweight, but totally tuneful '59 Bassman.
now, maybe I'm blowing smoke because I'm already entering the lame-duck period of my rein, but the guy has what could be a legitimate combo for bass. What say you, membership? It's been a while since a major issue was debated, can we allow any combo that someone may use for bass to pass in our club (I mean, the guy actually came to us with a cool pic), or does it have to be a combo specifically made for the bass guitar? I know, tough choice, but this is why we have a Constitution...sort of. Yes or no, and if you add a comment then we'll love and respect you even more.

note: I bought a Fender Greta amp for my Tele a number of years ago and occasionally used it with my Rumble 115 cab. I thought it sounded great, albeit kinda thin. Still, I was admitted to the Low-wattage Amp Club and at the time, had the smallest amp in the group. Still counted though. I know you're gonna say it's different hooking up an amp to a cab and displaying a combo that could be used with bass speakers. Again, how do we know they're not currently in there? I don't. 007 doesn't. Only Johnny knows fer sure.
Okay, your call. I'm fine either way, but G'Dog may pop a vein if you vote yes. Let's find out, shall we?

Therefore, I vote YES on this one.
If someone wants to blow up the speakers in a guitar amp combo by playing bass (at high volume) through it, that is fine by me. There are many references on TB of guitar amps (some being tube amps) being used for bass with a caution to high volume. JMHO

Speaking of lefty basses, some neat guy you know just posted his lefty Jazzer in the classifieds. Only mentioning this in case someone's sick of waiting for the Los Angeles Harbor to finally unload. Rumor even has it that someone's Stage 800 will be going up later this weekend. Ooh La La! Think of it as my way to combat increased prices for the person looking to put 800 watts under their tree this Christmas.
