The Devi Ever Effects Thread - Fuzz ahoy!

I have not been able to play in a good week and coming back to this thread makes me GAS hard core.

That said out of the three circuts TP, Anemia, SM I would have to say the Anemia is at the top of my list for usefulness in a band situation. I have not given the SM a really good try but when you have the TP all you want to do is find a way to shatter ribcages with it.

I picked up a BIT yesterday. I only had 30min to mess with it. I might be ********, but their is no sustain and volume fluctuations when changing notes. It sounded fine on guitar when I bought it. I think I just need more seat time. I will probably put it after my assmaster clone.
Oh yah, I play in drop C. Not sure if that matters.
Any of ya'll have any experience with the BIT. How do you like it? Comparison to a Soda Meiser, which I will be getting next. Or the Ruiner, I can't decide.

The BIT has a gate, the further left the harder it closes, less is right, and it corresponds to more distortion too...BIT likes a high input, active bass, preamp whatever, and it cuts low end. I used one with a Boss LS-2, blended with clean, it's awesome. It's volume knob is stupid over-boosting (it's a guitar pedal!) so you have to be careful, get a limiter ha ha. But I've abandoned the LS2 because it is a high-end cutter when bypassed, so the BIT is hanging by it's velcro on the side of a cab...I sold my sodameister, and just bought a KP in my quest to find a d.e. pedal I can use. Ruiner will be tried too. I like her bent sound concept.

still think her easisest most usable pedal is the hyperion...

the aenima and VFM I have are still usable but nowhere near the swiss army knife of the hype...

this could all be my rig and setup and playing with active basses tho...

I am gonna order a win!

TP --DB or TP---Hyperion......which one?!! I dont know =/

For both of those choices, I'd recommend flipping the order the other way around. The twin I just ordered is Hyperion -> Aenima, which would be very similar to your second choice (the TP and the Aenima are identical circuits, except with just a couple component values difference) and I think it sounds fantastic.

I have both the Aenima and the TP and I love them both so much. Matter of fact I love the TP so much that I wanted to use the DB to really crank it up. But seeing that I have an Ehx Knockout, I may go Hyperion -> Brass Wave Meat Blaster so I have 5 different circuits at my disposal.

Either way I will have at least two twins, one for now then a rather large pedal liquidation and then another afterwards.

=D

Thread Bump! and Question needed some answering! =D

I am going to liquidate the majority of my pedal collection and do a specific build in mind before I build the "general" board which will come way later.

I love my shoe gazer but I also love my Aenima. I want a twin and I want the devi pedal make a noise similar to a buzzy high pitch so or of effect (think Brian Gibson, Burton solo esc sort of sound.)

What devi pedals are close to this sound? I know that Devi makes what I REALLY want but I do not have the funds to pedal cycle at the moment. If the shoe gazer is close to that then I will just get another =D

I just got a Karaoke Party and I have high hopes for it retaining low end...the (more controlled) buzz it makes is Fantastic. Even full-on it sounds usable! Prunes & Custard into it (control down @ 10 oclock) is a Fantastic mid buzzing fuzz but with sustain. KP into AttackGoat is a big synthy sizzle with plenty of drive. My clean sound seems to be present with a set blend (like BBM), and that makes a big difference.

I'm thinking of getting a Hyperion -> Ruiner twin, or maybe Hyperion -> DB (or anything else that keeps lows)

Based on Devi's bass Hyperion video, it sounds badass. I'm hoping the Ruiner engaged after it retains a lot of low end but doesn't send it into a ridiculous noisefest -- I mean, I want it to be ridiculous, but also versatile. You know? The only experience I have with Devi pedals is my Shoe Gazer and that gets out of control with both modes engaged.

The reason I'm thinking Ruiner is because I feel like the DB is mostly just a slight boost compared to it and I want something that feels "crushing". I'm really hoping these two circuits will work well together.

...I'm also hoping the Hyperion really is way better-sounding than the Bass Big Muff. It's gotta be, right?

like most people know if they read my posts the hyperion has become THE fuzz for me,... haven't used a bass big muff but ive used all sorts of big muff clones and don't think id ever go back to them...

I think the DB/Ruiner should actually go first,... use that to 'colour' the hyperion maybe? make it more brutal? but I don't know I think theres alot of threads on the offical devi forum that people have discussed similar setups :)
