Devi is rad like that, all hopes of making a board that will produce usable musical sounds has for the moment completely been thrown out for me. I now have a full blow addiction to all things Devi Ever related.

It gets kinda mind boggling how many different things she has produced over the years.

Even though I just spent a large chunk of change on my Bit Mangler, I want a Truly Beautiful Disaster just to have one =D

I'm a little late to the party. Just visited DeviEver's website for the first time.

Are any of their pedals specifically made for bass, or are all/some/most "all purpose"?

I'm on the "synthy gated" quest. I didn't see the SMBF on the site. Is it still around?

Also, how do the OK and Legend of Fuzz differ?

None are made For bass. After trying a couple that Only worked well with a blend pedal (BIT & Sodameister), I finally found a Devi pedal that Doesn't Cut low end: Karioke Party (and it is AWESOME, I love the thing). Also in consideration: Year of the Rat, Ruiner and Electric Brown. Dark Boost too. But I won't really know until I try them.
The only remaining issue is the volume is way too high for bass (because they are built to overdrive a guitar amp) and the usable range is from 8:30 to 8:31.5...Very small. Got to watch it.

I repaired my Shoe Gazer...sort of. After burning through several parts like an idiot, I bought a less powerful soldering iron and new parts so that I could wire both circuits to work independently (I have an older model where the TP side can only be engaged when SM is on). It does work independently now, but...not like it used to. TP is all weird and synthy now, and the pedal is generally noisier than it was before. So I guess I can use it for some kind of noisemaking.

It's not "useless" now, just.....unuseful.

edit: Now, neither one of the TP pots really control the volume, but if you tweak them both you can eventually raise it. With the "gain" knob past 12 o clock you can use the "intensity" knob to control a strange oscillating sound, just like the Disaster Fuzz with that switch engaged. It's the same the other way around but with different sounds. Wat.

well the bass fuzz/super massive black hole before it was ended was specifically made for bass,... but it was too gated for me,... very synthy NIN sounding!
didn't quite work for me playing metal so have since found the hyperion is awesomeness, slight loss of low end but not extremely noticeable, I run it blended and love it

also the now defunct cherry pop has THE insane ability to provide extra low to the point where you could definitely bust a speaker if you werent careful,... its based on the sodameiser (?could be wrong) from memory

I just got my Ruiner yesterday and I think I almost destroyed my little practice amp so I ran it through my Ampeg(into a fender 410) and well....it`s not what I expected. Its super high gain craziness and while it does boost the lows it`s just so f---ing crazy! I have to spend more time dialing in a workable sound. It`s like the polar opposite of any muff i`ve ever heard! I`m looking forward to working with it some more in the upcoming days.
