I have one of those as well. It’s been my #1 guitar since 2011. That’s what made me want to make this bass!I have an early Squier Classic Vibe Duo-Sonic. They were made from 2008-2023. It's my favorite solidbody guitar.
I agree. Then I wouldn’t have had to go through all the trouble of making one lol.Very nice!!! This should be made into a production model!
Still, think I’ll mess with the wiring to see if I can’t eliminate that volume control issue. !
No, the body & neck are both a Squier Bronco bass. I had the pickguard custom made to mimic the Fender Duo-Sonic guitar. Is this a guitar body bass neck Mashup? I am not familiar with the Fender models lineup.

And do they sound like Strat pickups or bass pickups?

I love this and I am absolutely gonna try to make something similar myself.
...
Eventually.
Also great bass line to use for the demo. It sounds awesome with both pickups on full!
There’s a video in the first post. The only difference in bass and guitar pickups is usually number of pole pieces and what you stick them in. They sound like single coil pickups in a short scale bass. And do they sound like Strat pickups or bass pickups?![]()
Finally, after years of thinking about it, and a few days of effort, my Duo-Sonic bass is complete(ish).
I’ve always wondered why the folks at FMIC haven’t tried this. Guess they don’t see a market for it, and I’m not sure there is one either. IMO, it sounds like a short scale jazz bass, so there’s that.
Anyway, here’s the demo video. Decide for yourselves!
