Hey everyone,
This year, my wife and I are celebrating 10 years of togetherness and 5 years of marriage. Recently, she’s s been showing interest in playing bass. She’s been picking up my bass at night after our kids are asleep.
The problem is, the only bass I have left (had to sell most of my...
Finally, after years of thinking about it, and a few days of effort, my Duo-Sonic bass is complete(ish).
I’ve always wondered why the folks at FMIC haven’t tried this. Guess they don’t see a market for it, and I’m not sure there is one either. IMO, it sounds like a short scale jazz bass, so...
Hi, I lurked on a Squier Bronco Bass in Tahitian Coral for a few months. I tried it out at a few stores when I happened to be in there. Loved the color - it's a coral with a vintage 60s vibe. Imagine my disappointment when I ordered it from my favorite retailer where I have an account. The...
Nothing special or fancy, quite the opposite. Bottom of the line, as simple and cheap as it gets from FMIC.
It just arrived today, and I’m very pleased with it. The setup was surprisingly good out of the box. Intonation was a bit sharp, but otherwise it played great.
Here’s the “first...
So after trading my brother my modded Bronco for his, I decided to do some more mods. Some may call it a problem, or completely unnecessary, but I enjoyed the process, and I’m happy to call it finished. He replaced the pickguard and pickup, I replaced the tuners, knobs, and bridge, and feeling...
Nobody would mistake this for a Mustang and I wouldn’t want anyone to.
But I did want to make it cosmetically similar for as cheap as possible. I pulled it off with nothing but a 3D printer (my other fanatical hobby) and a regular paper printer.
Squier Bronco Bass: $199
Modification cost...
Ordered from flea bay for my old Black Squier Bronco but ended up trading that bass for a full scale. It’s brand new, has the protective plastic and was cut specifically for the Bronco basses. It is shielded on the back and the pictures don’t do justice, this is a very beautiful PG! Dress up...

Can i put long scale (45-100) bass strings on my squier bronco? Its a 30" scale.
Only asking because i used long scale strings on my ibanez mikro (28" scale) and it worked fine even with standard guage. I think the ibanez mikro tuners might have been bigger tho.
Hey. Thinking about picking up a Squier Bronco on the cheap as my first mod project. I know that the size of the pickup rout is a bit larger than the Strat-sized single-coil that sits in it, and I was thinking of throwing a Rickenbacker humbucker in there, specifically the HB1 650 that's found...
See title. Which would you go with and why? For a 3rd option, would it be better to save up for a Fender Player Mustang? I don't know much about the "Player" series and I am looking for something more along the price of an SX or Squier Bronco Bass anyway.
Even though I love my Squier II P Bass...
Yep the thread headline says it all.
Trying to get a Squier bronco for my 4.5 year old. Looking for advice from fellow bass-dads if it’s practical in terms of weight and scale size for tiny hands.
Or, is the new Squier mini bass a better alternative?
WARNING: wordy post.
Hello folks, I’ve been gassing for a semi hollow bass for a while. I’ve tried a few production models, and while they’re cool they’re also pretty pricey, and since I’m in the process of moving, money is a little tight. What I do have, however, is a pretty abused Squier...
Hallo Leute,
I’m in the market for a cheap Squire precision bass to upgrade for something to do really.
I found an old Affinity P-Bass going for cheap which seems like the perfect template for a project.
My main concern however is those closed in tuners with small posts. Is it possible to...
I have been sent a Squier Bronco for fixing the wiring and while checking it I found one of the magnets on the pickup broken, roughly below the A string. After swapping 1 pot and re-soldering everything the bass works but the sound is uneven, E & A are quite a bit lower volume than the D & G and...
Sounds like fun I think to maybe go nuts on one of these , and yes I know , a set of good pickups is worth more than the bass , but , I think it would be a blast to do it , so lets hear what you've done if you have one , I want ideas please , one of the first thoughts I had was maybe Duncans...
I bought this beat up squier bronco at a pawn shop, it was stock with the red finish. I brought it home and in a couple days it turned into this. Blueish green rattle can paint refin, cut the pickguard for a more music master vibe, gretsch broadcaster bass pickup, thumb rest, and a jazz bass...
I'm cleaning out my shop again, it's crazy how much stuff piles up!
Here is a Squier Bronco Bass neck. Maple with maple fretboard, 30 inch scale. The neck is new but... I bought the instrument as "Refurbished" meaning that it was a factory second, the back of the headstock has "Used" stamped on...

Hey Everyone!
I recently bought a Squier Bronco Bass at a local guitar shop. It was there for almost one and a half year, but i never tried it out because it's a short scale model. I never played a SS bass before, because I always looked at these as a beginner bass. Damn I was so wrong.
So...
I was just offered a Bronco bass and a Rumble 15, I've been playing for two years on a super high action mexican made p bass (it's really old for a bass). Should I try it out? I was offered 700 dollars but obviously tried to get actual market price (300 dollars). What should I do?
New to me - Squier Bronco, been used and a bit abused but a nice score for $50.
I've been digging short scales, as I have a SS Squier Jaguar. Nice to have a maple board short scale to compliment my SS Jaguar. The neck is really nice on this one. Needs new strings, and ill end up replacing the...

This is a 2007 Squier by Fender Bronco Bass body in basic black. This is a very nice, solid beginning for your short-scale bass project at a real good price. Folks use this body for a Mustang bass or Musicmaster bass-type of project. If this is you, I'd suggest doing some research right here on...

This is off a 2006 Squier Bronco Bass. I bought it to do a faux Mustang Bass project, but have decided otherwise. The bass must have been exposed to light for quite a while, as it has yellowed/beige'd/brown'd quite nicely. You can see the "shadows" where the strings, knobs, pickup and neck heel...

Been watching this 1998 Squier Bronco Affinity bass languish on a pawnshop wall for months now. It's beat up, been played, road hard and put away wet. The strings were poorly installed, the knobs wobbled and it was just a sad sight. So Thursday night I adopted it from the shop and brought it...
Had planned on doing a lot more with this, but I really don't play anymore... First, the mods:
Full sized tuners from a CV 60's bass, they work great
Full sized, threaded hi-mass bridge. It's a no name, but way way wAyyy better than stock
Custom gold pickguard cut by the Traverse City Guitar...
