that DB750 is nothing to shake a stick at. rockin' amp if you ask me.

and T, honestly, if you dig something, there's a 99.99999999% chance i'll gas for it. ;)

FYI, and i cant believe i totally forgot this, but Roger also mentioned he's doing his own speaker cabinet line for the US o' A!!!

working w/ Jim Bergantino, there's plans for a 2x10, 4x10, 1x12 w/ the Sadowsky nameplate, but have them on Jim's site. dunno how that's gonna work, but Jim'll market them to his dealers, and sell them as Sadowsky tuned/designed but Bergantino built/engineered cabs. roger also mentioned he's got some secret sauce he'll be pourin' into these cabs e.g. the sensitivity will be thru the roof on these suckers for maximum bass poundage. said he sent the prototype 4x10 to japan, where it got rave reviews.

all i know is that, my all sadowsky rig is nearly complete! now if only he'll start makin' that 6 string... ;)

I have spoken with both Roger and Jim concerning these cabs, and the 4x10 seems to have both of them very excited (not that they aren't excited about the other cabs, but the 4x10 is the one that seems to have people going "Wow!"). I know that they wanted this cab to pair up well with the SA200 and provide great efficiency, but still be able to take a beating. This will be "Jim's" first 4x10, and quite honestly I think he is surprised at how nice it sounds. I had sworn off 4x10's (due to their width, and all of my dingeg door jams & knuckles), but this cab may cause me to rethink that position. ;)

From what I understand, anyone looking for a more efficient, "loud for its size" cab, is probably going to want to check one of these out.

One thing that I'm not sure has been posted yet is that the Bottom and Top tone controls are active boost/cut, and the Bass, Mid, and Treble are passive, cut only. But, even so, the thoughts are that the amp is relatively "flat to the ears" with all knobs set at noon (though technically, flat would be straight up, maxxed, maxxed, maxxed, straight up). I haven't tried this setting yet, but I will! :p

I hope I helped make a little room for the new amp by taking the AMP BH-420 off your hands!

In '68 my folks bought a new house and I got to pick out the carpeting for my bedroom--you guessed it, the exact same Candy Stripe! It's still there and looks fine! :D

Oooo,

interesting to note! hmm, maybe that's why i liked the "high noon" settings. that extra dalloup of the bottom and top is always welcome in my tone.

also, i dunno if its my fuzzy memory, but i think Roger mentioned that the 4x10 would be rather compact and small. any validation, T?

I don't recall discussing the dimensions, but I do recall them saying that it should be fairly light for a 4x10.

You know, not right away. I had thought that this might be a fairly quick "modification", but I am really happy all the way around with the SA200 with the EL34's inside. Still, I suspect that I will get "curious" at some point (though I will be sure to check with Roger/Dolf first with regard to warranty issues).

To be honest, that surprised me, too. But I have to say, the proof is, indeed, in the pudding.

FYI,

the amp'll take whatever octal power tube you can throw at it. w/ whatever biasing necessary. course, roger also says this'll void the warranty.

and before i say anything more about the new amp, i still wanna compare the amp thru my own cabs, which i'm more familiar than the Berg stuff at Roger's shop.

but, IMHO, i like how the EL34's seem to reach a saturation point faster than the 6550. they seem to get furrier and do what i call, "glow" faster than the 6550, which in certain amps seem a touch too clean at times. but that's just me.
