I was thinking about a SVT-VR but with the versatility of the SB300 & the near a grand cheaper price it was an obvious choice for me.
I'm SO glad some of you TB ppl gave me positive views on the Super Bassman & I went with that. The 2 channels, blendable overdrive, weight, tone etc etc
Id pick this OVER a SVT-VR now even if they were the same price.

someone else said the super was not blendable.. would like to know if this thing is made with real solder as well?

The 2 channels are not blendable, but you can blend overdrive into the clean signal in "overdrive" channel

sort of. But this SB300 has an old Bassman style ch.1 à sounds a fair bit different to the 300 pro too. It's a much tubier affair.

I played through one of these last week. Seriously good sounding head. Its creamy sounding, hits hard down low, and gets fricken loud. Really nice piece of gear! If I was looking for a tube amp this would be high up on my list.

I was looking at a SVT-VR but Tom Bowlus, Tim here & a fair few others advised me to put this SB300 in my list.
So glad they did. Creamy is a very good word to describe it.
That vintage channel is lush

Shop told me the part from Fender should be here any day super bassman has been there for a month plus. Supposedly I should get it back by this weekend. If the part does the trick, I will report my bliss. I already know it sounds awesome. Sure would like it back

Whoah....this is 300 watts of sweet tube goodness. Initial impression - I prefer the vintage channel. So far my favorite bass on it is the 2012 Fender P then the EB Stingray 5 followed closely by the Fbass VF5. The P is my only bass with a maple neck. I'm wondering if that's keeping it the right combo of tube bass w/o muddiness...maybe I need to keep farting around with it. I wish I could play hooky from work tomorrow....thank goodness for a 4-day weekend!

With all three of the basses, huge weight behind each note. I'm liking this 300!

I agree, my VF5 through the SB300 is amazing!

Its about time Fender came out with a really really good bass amp. Their Pro series was ok, but these new Bassman heads are outstanding.

From What I have Read the Preamps were similar on SB and TB and Pro.. How can the SB Be so great if it is made in Mexico? are they allower to use real solder there or something.. or would i need to re-solder entire circuit board(s) If I got one?

I had Read thet the Growl/ Distortion sound was slightly better on the SB, but Channels are allegedly not blend able?
The SB Has No Compression or EQ either.. Wondering how it is better? May stop by store and try both.. The Pro Looks Pretty Killer and I think USA Made to... Guess because it is older Model it may not be as good as the SB? Have a 2006 SVT CL Sound Pretty Good, <Has Original Cheese Ball Tube(s) I imagine>, But has no Channel switch-ability, Distortion Channel, Compression or EQ

Have Old V-4 too, LOL Like it for Small Rooms, Sounds Like Trying the 300 Pro May be a waste of time.. Saw a Handful of people on here that like the SB Better, Would Your say that the Pre Amp Section is as good as the TB 1200 or 600? Cause i was seriously thinking of getting one of those
