Stunning looking basses 
I'm attaching a pic of my latest (and probably last lol) Ibanez lefty basses. This little gem is an Ibanez GSR100BKL. I just used it recently at a jam session and WOW did it sound great! I love it's simplicity. One pickup, one volume, one tone! I'm getting an Ibanez combo bass amp next, so I'll do a lot more tone shaping from the amp.
I also have a 1980 Ibanez Roadstar sunburst, and an Ibanez SR500 lefty.

My wife bought me this Road Gear 500 for my 30th birthday a few years ago. I can't put it down.
I bought this GSR 200 as a back up about 12 years ago. I played it pretty much exclusively until I got the RD 500. I put Duncan p/u's in it and Carvin hardware on it. I've been offered $500 cash for it, but since I've been layering it with stickers for 12 years, I can't give it up.
I also have a 6 string Talman acoustic/electric. I've owned and sold or traded a GSR 400 4 string fretless & a Gio 6 string electric.

AWESOME! Someone with a RD500!!!!
I have a line on a GREAT RD500 right now. What do you like about yours???? It's an AWESOME looking Piece, but what else? You get a good range of sounds with it? I am playing ATK's right now and have had BTB's, couple SR's, and an SRX in the past. The ATK has been the MOST Versatile for me and I can't stop touching them. BUT, this RD 500 REALLY INTRIGUES me!!! Your opinion on it would be Greatly appreciated!

I absolutely love the RD500. I wasn't really into active basses before I got this one. When I saw the ad for this for $270 on closeout I thought to myself, "for the price, I'd like to try it..." I am so glad my wife was listening, she ordered it and I have been playing it pretty much constantly for 3.5 years. I am an active bass guy now. I want to put an active setup in the GSR 200 too.
The controls on the RD500 really set it apart. The volume is push/pull, so when it is pulled out, it splits the MM p/u to single coil which basically gives you a Jazz bass setup, except you have a blend pot instead of 2 volume knobs, I prefer it that way. The EQ has a lot of boost. I have to play the bass at 50% on some rigs, it's just too powerful for smaller setups.
I've played rock, reggae, blues, country, & punk with it and have gotten suitable tones without adjusting my SVT. That in itself says a lot about the versatility of this bass.
It came setup low and fast out of the box. It stays in tune for months. 24 frets is awesome. The body design is very unique.
Overall, yeah I love it! Buy the one you're looking at, you'll dig it.

Without further A-DO.....The more often I see that video, the more impressed I am. Your approach to covers would go over really well in the dive bars/clubs of Seattle's Capitol Hill and Georgetown. I started digging the "mashing" of genres (think The Beatles + Metallica = Beatallica) a few years ago.
BTW, the Roadster Orange is my fave!

Glad I could help! I love mine and I'm sure you'll love yours. It looks like we have slightly different neck p/u's though. Either way, you'll get a lot of workable tones with it. Enjoy!

IIRC, Ibanez changed the pups from "Ibanez" to D/D on the RDs in 2005 or '06. At any rate, in terms of tone, you are correct. Why they were discontinued is still a mystery to me.

Just restrung the 1305e with DR Sunbeams...sustain like a Steinway Grand piano. The Ernie Ball Power Slinky that were on it previously were craptacular, and were dead within 5 weeks of occasional play.
Mamma says I have to start thinning the herd of some of the stragglers..but the 8205 isn't on the list for divestiture.
