I asked in another thread.
But I'll ask here.
I'm curious as to the differences between the Ibanez Prestige models and the Premium models.
Anyone know?
Are they both great basses?
Thanks

The prestige is the top level of some series of their basses I believe.
And what I gather that is from their website and some videos I have seen is that the prestige models are solely made in japan with a more hands on and individual care build process as well as better woods and hardware that go into them.
However the premium line is no joke, very nice basses. I mean c'mon, it's Ibanez!!
Im sure there's others that can answer this more accurate.

Currently prestige models are made in Japan and come with hard shell cases. They have different pickups, inlays and slightly different neck dimensions from premiums.
Premiums models are made in Indonesia and come with gig bags.

So aside from the JB (still en route), I had another bass coming, that I didn't really want to brag about till it was here... But... my precious just arrived today... :D
I got a great SB1500, and an age-appropriate case (with a half-broken handle, thanks DPD couriers) for my '77 Silver Series JB :D Two birds with one stone :)

It's beautiful indeed, there's only two small spots of damage right at the base of the bridge. I have no clue what happened to it, as it's very close to the bridge. Maybe there were some small holes in the wood they patched in the factory and now it's coming out? No idea... But I don't much mind, otherwise, the only sign of use is the very minor wear on the neckplate coating :)
It's heavy as a bucket of mud tho'... I swear it is on par with my 6 string Thumb... o.o

Hello guys!

Let me butt in here with my (almost) latest addition to the Ibanez fold (Yes I stopped counting how many Ibanez guitars I have lol). I always said I would not have any Soundgear basses in my collection, but I could not leave this gal behind...

Supposedly it is an SR1000E, but I could not find one with even a remotely similar paintjob. It is certainly original, serial number sticker is in it's place. Based on the serial it is from 1987, but I don't see the '1000' on the headstock that is supposedly on all the first year models. So... it is a bit of an enigma... certainly a beautiful one. Does anyone by chance have any info? Could this be a one-off?

It's in pristine condition, with only a bit of a paint chip on the top of the head. Will need a full setup though, strings are adjusted way too high, but luckily there is virtually no fret-wear, and all the gold plating is intact and not worn :)

I'd appreciate any info, thanks!
