SO glad I found this thread. You guys gave me some Ibanez props and convinced me not to trade away my 99 Verdine White Sig Bass. What an amazing ax this is. Thanks guys...and gals.

Ill take it if you dont want it :D
Is that a custom pick guard? Very nice...

I found a Ibanez ASB140 on the East Coast and it's being shipped finally.

Got it for under 2 bills...I played one here and I was hooked... I can't wait til it gets here.

I'm part of the club now!

Now Dr. Cheese just needs to sell me his sweet ATK...lol.:D

It's been a long time since I've been a Soundgear player, but this has me wondering what kind of scam I can pull to get a 5-string while still having the money to buy my Spector ReBop DLX FM lined fretless:

Here's mine... I consider it a one of a kind.

It's a 2005 SR-500 converted to a fretless by H.G. Thor, who is without a doubt the best guy that does this stuff. It sounds amazing and it gets better with age...

I think it's pretty slick... :smug:

wow - I'm listening to blackbird right now and Im just floored....
awesome sound, awesome playing man

you used a looper right? or recorded the lead line later?

Not a looper, just multi-track in GarageBand. Blackbird is mostly two tracks. Jaco's note-for-note bass line (except for the end) and the melody on top of it. There are three tracks at the end.

Just had to stop in & say "hi" to fellow Ibaneezers!

I don't have any IBZ basses any more... couldn't find one that worked well, for me. The EDB-400 & EDC-705 I owned started narrow at the nut, but got too wide down where I pick it. All of the others I've played are set up the same way. Fine for fingers, not good for using a pick. (As a converted guitarist, it's the only way I know how.)

If anyone has any suggestions of an Ibanez bass with a 'parallel' neck/string arrangement, for an old Ric/Hofner pick player, please let me know!

I do own 5 Ibanez guitars though... does that count? :hiding:
