Hi all- speaking of selling- what would be the best way to get my 5 string appraised? It was worth about 1400 new and doesn't have any damage that I know of... what type of place do you think would give me an honest appraisal?

ebay, you will see exactly what its worth, check the completed listing to see what has sold and for how much, take the ones that did and then average it out.

If those were sixers, I would have to rob you. I didn't even know Ibanez made basses like that. I didn't even know they did fretlesses, to be honest. What's the top on the fretless? Is it an LE, or just a new model?

It's just taken me time to find all the tones this bass can produce. I love the sound of the electronics, but I think the Bart pre/pup set up might be too warm for some player's likings.

I agree with you about its playability: scary good!
And one of the most comfortable necks I've ever played. :bassist:

This bass reminds me a lot of a Peavey Cirrus feel-wise, but much, much warmer tone-wise.

You've all read about how nice and warm I think the BTB1205E sounds, now you can listen to it. :bassist:

I can't answer fully for jusballs13, but the 1305 and 5005 are discontinued models from the mid-90's. Absolutely amazing basses that didn't sell simply because music was in the middle of grunge/alt. rock and bassist were generally playing older and older-looking instruments. FYI, the 1305 was the basis for Fieldy's first signature model, so if you can track down one on the used market (they typically sell for less than the 1305) and ignore the K5 inlay you're pretty close.

I believe the 1305 is an aftermarket defret - I was all about the Ibanez line back then and don't recall ever seeing a fretless model.

~Ian, owner of a 1996 SR-1206, the line one below the 1305 and a great neck-through bass - I've never played one as solid, and when it was primary gigging bass I could go weeks without tuning it. So give me a number... :D

I gave up with 5ers due to hand pain but being so narrow, I think it would have been OK. My 4 string is an amazing little bass. Oh well, that was a nice one. Back to the Rumblefish hunt :ninja:

The fretless is a special little baby :) I dont know if it is factory or custom done. I got this bass 3rd hand, and it is STILL in amazing shape, perfect fit and finish. The top is Paudauk and the sides are mahogany. It does play as well as it looks and boy she is smooth. Slender neck, great curves, haha. Its from Japan from 1995, back when they built them beautifully.
