Maybe its the pic but I can't tell...
I know the end of the BMT's, some of them had the pointed tail end of the neck like that. But the body wings, at least from the small pic w/ that shadow looks like BSR wings. The lower horn looks longer. I guess its just one of the transitional BMT's...
Either way, its HOT! Post more pix when you get it in your hands please

I don't know why my bass has the pointed tail end. I have seen the BMT's don't have it, but on the same token, I have not yet seen a BMT with the pointed tail end. I think this BMT6 bass became more unique.

I think the lower horn is different between the bmt / bsr. But the side wings bolt up to either neck stle. I remember reading a post from Mr Smith about it, ill see if I could find it.
I think it was the earlier bmt's that have the pointed neck, also, the older bmt did not have the plate on the back covering the neck in the body.
Either way, its beautiful... and I have so much GAS for a new Smith

Jim777 that is a sick bass, beautiful. I tell you when I got mine i was blown away. I had several BSR in the past but this BMT6 is just a completely different animal. WoW.
You know what, I'm not so sure I'm keeping it. I expected it to simply make me forget my Carvin, and that has happened at all. I think maybe my memory of playing them in the past got more an more unrealistic as I saved up to get one. Don't get me wrong, absolutely nothing wrong with it, but I expected a lot more WOW!! for the money I guess.

mine looks really close to your bass, but mine its stamped as a BMT6.
Sorry you got disappointed, I had 2 different BSR before. There were beautiful basses but I was too a little disappointed with the sound, However when I got this BMT6, I was really blown away, out of the Ken Smith basses this one rocks, Perfect Sound. I don't know what makes it different. I am very happy with my BMT6

The BMT Elite's are the Elite of the Elite Smith's built back in the Mid 90's. My BMT is one of the last with the Newer BSR body style prior to the BSR becoming a New Model.
Its cool info. but still a BMT6 and I hardly seen the BMT with the pointed end, I have seen much more or the BMT Elite with out the pointed end. IMO it doesn't mattle both are amazing basses. I am just happy that I am a owner of a BMT, a hard to get bass.
